The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

Sybil Rose Neumann Baroness Grimston was born to [her father] Sigmund Neumann 1st Baronet and [her mother] Anna Allegra Hakim Lady Neumann.

In 1890 [her father] Sigmund Neumann 1st Baronet (age 32) and [her mother] Anna Allegra Hakim Lady Neumann (age 26) were married at Vevey, Switzerland.

On 6th February 1912 [her father] Sigmund Neumann 1st Baronet (age 54) was created 1st Baronet Neumann of Cecil Lodge. [her mother] Anna Allegra Hakim Lady Neumann (age 48) by marriage Lady Neumann of Cecil Lodge.

On 13th September 1916 [her father] Sigmund Neumann 1st Baronet (age 59) died. His son [her brother] Cecil (age 25) succeeded 2nd Baronet Neumann of Cecil Lodge.

On 17th February 1920 Captain Victor Malcolm Wombwell (age 26) and Sybil Rose Neumann Baroness Grimston were married. This marriage was annulled in 1921.

On 24th October 1923 Robert Villiers Grimston 1st Baron Grimston (age 26) and Sybil Rose Neumann Baroness Grimston were married.

On 14th June 1925 [her son] Robert Walter Sigismund Grimston 2nd Baron Grimston was born to [her husband] Robert Villiers Grimston 1st Baron Grimston (age 28) and Sybil Rose Neumann Baroness Grimston. He married 21st June 1949 June Mary Ponsonby Baroness Grimston, daughter of Hubert William Ponsonby 5th Baron de Mauley and Elgiva Margaret Dundas Baroness de Mauley, and had issue.

In October 1942 [her husband] Captain Victor Malcolm Wombwell (age 49) and Eileen Beryl Tilley (age 34) were married.

On 21st June 1949 [her son] Robert Walter Sigismund Grimston 2nd Baron Grimston (age 24) and [her daughter-in-law] June Mary Ponsonby Baroness Grimston (age 25) were married.

The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 11th December 1964 [her husband] Robert Villiers Grimston 1st Baron Grimston (age 67) was created 1st Baron Grimston of Westbury in Wiltshire. Sybil Rose Neumann Baroness Grimston by marriage Baroness Grimston of Westbury in Wiltshire.

On 19th November 1977 Sybil Rose Neumann Baroness Grimston died.

On 8th December 1979 [her former husband] Robert Villiers Grimston 1st Baron Grimston (age 82) died. His son [her son] Robert (age 54) succeeded 2nd Baron Grimston of Westbury in Wiltshire, 2nd Baronet Grimston of Westbury in Wiltshire. [her daughter-in-law] June Mary Ponsonby Baroness Grimston (age 55) by marriage Baroness Grimston of Westbury in Wiltshire.

On 8th June 1986 [her former husband] Captain Victor Malcolm Wombwell (age 93) died.
