Biography of Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt and Grey, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley 1404-1474

On 24th February 1404 Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt and Grey, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley was born to [her father] John Deincourt 5th Baron Deincourt (age 21) and [her mother] Joan Grey 5th Baroness Grey (age 17) at Blankney, Lincolnshire.

Befire 24th February 1404 [her father] John Deincourt 5th Baron Deincourt (age 21) and [her mother] Joan Grey 5th Baroness Grey (age 17) were married. They were fourth cousins.

On 11th May 1406 [her father] John Deincourt 5th Baron Deincourt (age 24) died at Blankney, Lincolnshire. He was buried at Blankney, Lincolnshire. His son [her brother] William (age 3) succeeded 6th Baron Deincourt.

On 20th November 1408 [her mother] Joan Grey 5th Baroness Grey (age 22) died. Her son [her brother] William (age 5) succeeded 6th Baron Grey of Rotherfield.

On 19th October 1414 John Lovell 6th Baron Lovel (age 39) died. His son [her future husband] William (age 17) succeeded 7th Baron Lovel of Titchmarsh.

In 1417 John Boteler 5th Baron Sudeley (age 32) died. His brother [her future husband] Ralph (age 28) succeeded 6th Baron Sudeley.

Around 1418 [her future husband] Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 29) and Elizabeth Norbury Baroness Sudeley (age 25) were married. She by marriage Baroness Sudeley.

On 3rd January 1418 [her brother] William Deincourt 6th Baron Deincourt 6th Baron Grey (age 15) and [her sister-in-law] Elizabeth Beaumont Baroness Deincourt and Grey (age 18) were married. She by marriage Baroness Deincourt and Baroness Grey of Rotherfield. They were fourth cousin once removed. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Henry III of England.

On 5th September 1422 [her brother] William Deincourt 6th Baron Deincourt 6th Baron Grey (age 19) died. In or before 1427 William Lovell 7th Baron Lovel 4th Baron Holand (age 29) and Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt and Grey, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 22) were married. She by marriage Baroness Lovel of Titchmarsh. They were fifth cousins.

In 1427 [her son] William Lovell Baron Marshal, Baron Morley was born to [her husband] William Lovell 7th Baron Lovel 4th Baron Holand (age 30) and Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt and Grey, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 22). He married in or before 1476 his third cousin once removed Alianore Morley 8th Baroness Marshal 7th Baroness Morley, daughter of Robert Morley 7th Baron Marshal 6th Baron Morley and Elizabeth Ros Baroness Marshal Baroness Morley, and had issue.

Before 1433 [her brother-in-law] Ralph Cromwell 3rd Baron Cromwell (age 29) and [her sister] Margaret Deincourt Baroness Cromwell (age 27) were married. She by marriage Baroness Cromwell.

Around 1433 [her son] John Lovell 8th Baron Lovel 5th Baron Holand was born to [her husband] William Lovell 7th Baron Lovel 4th Baron Holand (age 36) and Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt and Grey, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 28). He married before 1456 his second cousin once removed Joan Beaumont Baroness Lovel, daughter of John Beaumont 1st Viscount Beaumont and Katherine Neville Duchess Norfolk, and had issue.

Around 1440 [her future husband] Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 51) was appointed 157th Knight of the Garter by King Henry VI of England and II of France (age 18).

In 1441 [her future husband] Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 52) was created 1st Baron Sudeley. Elizabeth Norbury Baroness Sudeley (age 48) by marriage Baroness Sudeley.

On 13th June 1455 [her husband] William Lovell 7th Baron Lovel 4th Baron Holand (age 58) died at Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire [Map]. He was buried at Greyfriars Oxford, Oxfordshire. His son [her son] John (age 22) succeeded 8th Baron Lovel of Titchmarsh, 5th Baron Holand.

Before 1456 [her son] John Lovell 8th Baron Lovel 5th Baron Holand (age 22) and [her daughter-in-law] Joan Beaumont Baroness Lovel (age 20) were married. She by marriage Baroness Lovel of Titchmarsh. She the daughter of John Beaumont 1st Viscount Beaumont (age 46) and Katherine Neville Duchess Norfolk (age 55). They were second cousin once removed. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In 1463 Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 74) and Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt and Grey, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 58) were married. She by marriage Baroness Sudeley. They were fifth cousin once removed.

On 28th February 1463 [her son] John Lovell 8th Baron Lovel 5th Baron Holand (age 30) died. His son [her grandson] Francis (age 7) succeeded 9th Baron Lovel of Titchmarsh, 6th Baron Holand at around eight years of age. He became a ward of King Edward IV of England (age 20) who gave his wardship to Richard "Kingmaker" Neville Earl Warwick, 6th Earl Salisbury (age 34) spending his childhood at Middleham Castle [Map] with the young (future) King Richard III of England (age 10).

On 2nd May 1473 [her husband] Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 84) died. Baron Sudeley extinct. Baron Sudeley abeyant.

Before 10th February 1474 [her sister] Margaret Deincourt Baroness Cromwell (age 68) died. Her sister Alice (age 69) abeyance terminated 7th Baroness Deincourt, 7th Baroness Grey of Rotherfield.

On 10th February 1474 Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt and Grey, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 69) died at Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire. Her grandson [her grandson] Francis (age 18) succeeded 8th Baron Deincourt, 8th Baron Grey of Rotherfield, and the feudal barony of Bedale.
