Biography of Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran 1868-1958

On 21 Feb 1865 [his father] Arthur Saunders Gore 5th Earl Arran (age 26) and [his mother] Edith Jocelyn Countess Arran (age 20) were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Philip Gore 4th Earl Arran (age 63) and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Marianne Napier Countess Arran (age 45).

On 14 Sep 1868 Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 5th Earl Arran (age 29) and Edith Jocelyn Countess Arran (age 23).

On 03 Oct 1871 [his mother] Edith Jocelyn Countess Arran (age 26) died.

On 20 Nov 1889 Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 21) was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Horse Guards.

On 30 Mar 1895 Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 26) was commissioned a Captain in the Royal Horse Guards.

In Feb 1900 Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 31) sailed for South Africa in the SS Narrung to join the Boer War. He was the commanding officer in charge of the various cavalry drafts on board the ship, a total of 200 men.

On 14 Mar 1901 [his father] Arthur Saunders Gore 5th Earl Arran (age 62) died. His son Arthur (age 32) succeeded 6th Earl Arran, 5th Viscount Sudley of Castle Gore in County Mayo, 5th Baron Saunders of Deeps in County Wexford, 7th Baronet Gore of Newtown in County Mayo.

On 16 Aug 1902 Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 33) and Maud Jacqueline Marie Beauclerk van Kattendyke Countess of Arran were married. She by marriage Countess Arran. He the son of Arthur Saunders Gore 5th Earl Arran and Edith Jocelyn Countess Arran.

On 31 Jul 1903 [his son] Arthur Gore 7th Earl of Arran was born to Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 34) and [his wife] Maud Jacqueline Marie Beauclerk van Kattendyke Countess of Arran.

On 05 Jul 1910 [his son] Arthur Gore 8th Earl of Arran was born to Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 41) and [his wife] Maud Jacqueline Marie Beauclerk van Kattendyke Countess of Arran.

In 1927 [his wife] Maud Jacqueline Marie Beauclerk van Kattendyke Countess of Arran died.

In 1929 Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 60) and Lilian Constance Quick Countess of Arran were married. She by marriage Countess Arran. He the son of Arthur Saunders Gore 5th Earl Arran and Edith Jocelyn Countess Arran.

In or before 1938 [his son] Arthur Gore 8th Earl of Arran (age 27) and [his daughter-in-law] Fiona Colquhoun Countess of Arran (age 19) were married. He the son of Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 69) and [his former wife] Maud Jacqueline Marie Beauclerk van Kattendyke Countess of Arran.

On 19 Dec 1958 Arthur Gore 6th Earl of Arran (age 90) died. His son [his son] Arthur (age 55) succeeded 7th Earl Arran, 6th Viscount Sudley of Castle Gore in County Mayo, 6th Baron Saunders of Deeps in County Wexford, 8th Baronet Gore of Newtown in County Mayo. He committed suicide nine days later.

In 1961 [his former wife] Lilian Constance Quick Countess of Arran died.
