In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

In September 1569 Bishop Arthur Lake was born to [his father] Almeric Lake at Southampton, Hampshire [Map].

Around 1579 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 9) educated at King Edward VI School, Southampton.

On 28th December 1581 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 12) educated at Winchester College, Winchester.

In July 1588 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 18) was educated at New College, Oxford University.

On 23rd April 1608 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 38) was appointed Dean Worcester.

Before 1609 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 39) was awarded Doctor of Divinity at New College, Oxford University.

On 17th October 1616 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 47) was elected Bishop of Bath and Wells.

In August 1617 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 47) was knighted.

On 4th May 1626 Bishop Arthur Lake (age 56) died. He was buried at Wells Cathedral [Map].
