Published March 2025. The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Samuel Pepys' Diary. 04 Jan 1664. Afterwards to St. James's Parke, being unwilling to go to spend money at the ordinary, and there spent an hour or two, it being a pleasant day, seeing people play at Pell Mell where it pleased me mightily to hear a gallant, lately come from France, swear at one of his companions for suffering his man (a spruce blade) to be so saucy as to strike a ball while his master was playing on the Mall1.
Note 1. When Egerton was Bishop of Durham, he often played at bowls with his guests on the public days. On an occasion of this sort, a visitor happening to cross the lawn, one of the chaplains exclaimed, "You must not shake the green, for the bishop is going to bowl".--B.

He the son of [his grandfather] John Egerton 3rd Earl Bridgewater and [his grandmother] Jane Paulet Countess Bridgewater.
On 30 Nov 1721 Bishop John Egerton was born to Bishop Henry Egerton (age 32) and Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck (age 18).
On 01 Apr 1746 [his father] Bishop Henry Egerton (age 57) died.
On 21 Nov 1748 Bishop John Egerton (age 26) and Anne Sophia Grey were married. She the daughter of Henry Grey 1st Duke Kent and Sophia Bentinck Duchess Kent. He the son of Bishop Henry Egerton and Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck (age 45). They were first cousins.
On 25 Nov 1751 [his daughter] Amelia Egerton was born to Bishop John Egerton (age 29) and [his wife] Anne Sophia Grey. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.25%.
In 1756 Bishop John Egerton (age 34) was appointed Bishop of Bangor.
On 11 Nov 1756 [his son] Francis Henry Egerton 8th Earl Bridgewater was born to Bishop John Egerton (age 34) and [his wife] Anne Sophia Grey. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.25%.
In 1765 [his mother] Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck (age 61) died.
In 1768 Bishop John Egerton (age 46) was appointed Bishop of Lichfield.
In 1771 Bishop John Egerton (age 49) was appointed Bishop of Durham.
Before 21 Jan 1772 [his son-in-law] Abraham Hume 2nd Baronet (age 22) and [his daughter] Amelia Egerton (age 20) were married. She the daughter of Bishop John Egerton (age 50) and [his wife] Anne Sophia Grey.
On 24 Mar 1780 [his wife] Anne Sophia Grey died.
On 18 Jun 1787 Bishop John Egerton (age 65) died.
[his son] John William Egerton 7th Earl Bridgewater was born to Bishop John Egerton and Anne Sophia Grey. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.25%.
