On 18th December 1720 [his father] Bishop Henry Egerton [aged 31] and [his mother] Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck [aged 17] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] William Bentinck 1st Earl of Portland and [his grandmother] Jane Martha Temple Countess Portland [aged 48]. He the son of John Egerton 3rd Earl Bridgewater and Jane Paulet Countess Bridgewater.

On 30th November 1721 Bishop John Egerton was born to [his father] Bishop Henry Egerton [aged 32] and [his mother] Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck [aged 18].

In 1723 [his father] Bishop Henry Egerton [aged 33] was appointed Bishop of Hereford.

On 1st April 1746 [his father] Bishop Henry Egerton [aged 57] died.

On 21st November 1748 Bishop John Egerton [aged 26] and Anne Sophia Grey [aged 18] were married. She the daughter of Henry Grey 1st Duke Kent and Sophia Bentinck Duchess Kent. He the son of Bishop Henry Egerton and Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck [aged 45]. They were first cousins.

On 25th November 1751 [his daughter] Amelia Egerton was born to Bishop John Egerton [aged 29] and [his wife] Anne Sophia Grey [aged 21]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.25%. She married before 21st January 1772 Abraham Hume 2nd Baronet, son of Abraham Hume 1st Baronet, and had issue.

On 14th April 1753 [his son] John William Egerton 7th Earl Bridgewater was born to Bishop John Egerton [aged 31] and [his wife] Anne Sophia Grey [aged 23]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.25%.

In 1756 Bishop John Egerton [aged 34] was appointed Bishop of Bangor.

On 11th November 1756 [his son] Francis Henry Egerton 8th Earl Bridgewater was born to Bishop John Egerton [aged 34] and [his wife] Anne Sophia Grey [aged 26]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.25%.

Anne Sophia Grey: In or after 1730 she was born to Henry Grey 1st Duke Kent and Sophia Bentinck Duchess Kent. On 21st November 1748 Bishop John Egerton and she were married. She the daughter of Henry Grey 1st Duke Kent and Sophia Bentinck Duchess Kent. He the son of Bishop Henry Egerton and Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck. They were first cousins.

On 18th June 1787 Bishop John Egerton [aged 65] died.
