Biography of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool 1729-1808

On 26th April 1729 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool was born to Colonel Charles Jenkinson (age 36).

In 1750 [his father] Colonel Charles Jenkinson (age 57) died.

In 1767 Charles Cope 2nd Baronet (age 24) and [his future wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 22) were married at her house in Hertford Street. She by marriage Lady Cope of Bruern in Oxfordshire.

On 9th February 1769 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 39) and Amelia Watts (age 18) were married at St Mary's Church, Bryanston Square, Marylebone. The difference in their ages was 21 years.

On 7th June 1770 [his son] Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool was born to Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 41) and [his wife] Amelia Watts (age 19). His mother died one month later.

On 7th July 1770 [his wife] Amelia Watts (age 19) died from childbirth one month afte the birth of her son [his son] Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool .

On 22nd June 1782 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 53) and Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 37) were married at her house in Hertford Street.

On 29th May 1784 [his son] Charles Jenkinson 3rd Earl Liverpool was born to Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 55) and [his wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 39).

In 1786 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 56) was created 1st Baron Hawkesbury of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire. [his wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 41) by marriage Baroness Hawkesbury of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire.

In 1790 John Frederick Sackville 3rd Duke Dorset (age 44) and [his step-daughter] Arabella Diana Cope 3rd Duchess Dorset (age 21) were married. She by marriage Duchess Dorset, 9th Countess Dorset. The difference in their ages was 23 years. She the daughter of Charles Cope 2nd Baronet and [his wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 45). They were fourth cousin once removed.

On 4th April 1791 George Gordon 9th Marquess Huntly (age 29) and [his step-daughter] Catherine Anne Cope (age 20) were married. She the daughter of Charles Cope 2nd Baronet and [his wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 46). He the son of Charles Gordon 4th Earl Aboyne (age 65) and Margaret Stewart Countess Aboyne.

On 28th December 1794 Charles Gordon 4th Earl Aboyne (age 68) died. His son George (age 33) succeeded 5th Earl Aboyne. [his step-daughter] Catherine Anne Cope (age 23) by marriage Countess Aboyne.

On 25th March 1795 [his son] Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool (age 24) and [his daughter-in-law] Louisa Theodosia Hervey Countess Liverpool (age 28) were married at Wimbledon, Surrey. She the daughter of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 64) and Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 62). He the son of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 65) and [his former wife] Amelia Watts.

In 1796 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 66) was created 1st Earl Liverpool. [his wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 51) by marriage Countess Liverpool.

On 7th April 1801 Charles Whitworth 1st Earl Whitworth (age 48) and [his step-daughter] Arabella Diana Cope 3rd Duchess Dorset (age 32) were married. She the daughter of Charles Cope 2nd Baronet and [his wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 56).

In 1807 [his son-in-law] James Grimston Baron Verulam (age 31) and [his daughter] Charlotte Jenkinson were married. She by marriage Baroness Verulam of Gormanbury in Hertfordshire. She the daughter of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 77).

On 17th December 1808 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 79) died. His son [his son] Robert (age 38) succeeded 2nd Earl Liverpool, 2nd Baron Hawkesbury of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire, 8th Baronet Jenkinson of Walcot in Oxfordshire and of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire. [his daughter-in-law] Louisa Theodosia Hervey Countess Liverpool (age 41) by marriage Countess Liverpool.

On 1st October 1827 [his former wife] Catherine Bisshopp Countess Liverpool (age 82) died at her house in Hertford Street.

[his daughter] Charlotte Jenkinson Countess Verulam was born to Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool.
