Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke
Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

He the son of [her grandfather] Albert Edward John Spencer 7th Earl Spencer (age 62) and [her grandmother] Cynthia Elinor Beatrix Hamilton Countess Spencer (age 57).
On 1st July 1961 Diana Spencer Princess Wales was born to [her father] John Spencer 8th Earl Spencer (age 37) and [her mother] Frances Ruth Roche Countess Spencer (age 25) at Park House, Sandringham Estate. She was baptised on 30th August 1961 by Bishop Percy Herbert (age 76) at St Mary Magdalene's Church, Sandringham.
On 9th June 1975 [her grandfather] Albert Edward John Spencer 7th Earl Spencer (age 83) died. His son [her father] John (age 51) succeeded 8th Earl Spencer, 8th Viscount Althorp, 8th Viscount Spencer, 8th Baron Spencer Althorp. [her mother] Frances Ruth Roche Countess Spencer (age 39) by marriage Countess Spencer.
In 1976 [her father] John Spencer 8th Earl Spencer (age 51) and [her step-mother] Raine McCorquodale Countess Dartmouth and Spencer (age 46) were married. She by marriage Countess Spencer. He the son of [her grandfather] Albert Edward John Spencer 7th Earl Spencer and [her grandmother] Cynthia Elinor Beatrix Hamilton Countess Spencer.
On 20th April 1978 [her brother-in-law] Robert Fellows (age 37) and [her sister] Jane Spencer (age 21) were married at the Royal Military Chapel, Wellington Barracks. Her sister Diana (age 16) attended as bridesmaid. She the daughter of [her father] John Spencer 8th Earl Spencer (age 54) and [her mother] Frances Ruth Roche Countess Spencer (age 42).
On 29th July 1981 Prince Charles (age 32) and Diana Spencer Princess Wales (age 20) were married at St Paul's Cathedral [Map]. She by marriage Princess of Wales. She the daughter of John Spencer 8th Earl Spencer (age 57) and Frances Ruth Roche Countess Spencer (age 45). He the son of Philip Mountbatten Duke Edinburgh (age 60) and Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom (age 55).
On 21st June 1982 [her son] William Prince of Wales was born to [her husband] King Charles III (age 33) and Diana Spencer Princess Wales (age 20). He a grandson of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. He married 29th April 2011 Catherine Middleton Princess of Wales.
On 15th September 1984 [her son] Prince Harry Windsor Duke Sussex was born to [her husband] King Charles III (age 35) and Diana Spencer Princess Wales (age 23). He a grandson of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

On 31st August 1997 Diana Spencer Princess Wales (age 36) died at Pitié-Salpetrière Hospital. She was buried at Althorp House, Northamptonshire [Map].
On 9th April 2005 [her husband] Prince Charles (age 56) and Queen Consort Camilla Shand (age 57) were married at Windsor Guildhall. He the son of [her father-in-law] Philip Mountbatten Duke Edinburgh (age 83) and [her mother-in-law] Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom (age 78).
