The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Biography of Francis Wheler 10th Baronet 1801-1900

Paternal Family Tree: Wheler

On 20th March 1792 [his father] Trevor Wheler 8th Baronet (age 28) and [his mother] Harriet Beresford (age 21) were married at Ashbourne, Derbyshire [Map].

On 9th November 1801 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet was born to Trevor Wheler 8th Baronet (age 38) and Harriet Beresford (age 30).

On 9th August 1806 [his mother] Harriet Beresford (age 35) died.

In 1810 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 8) entered Rugby School.

In 1818 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 16) joined the Bengal Army. He served in Bundelkimd, 1821-22, in Afghanistan, 1839-49, in the Punjab 1848-49, and in the Indian Mutiny, 1858.

In February 1827 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 25) and Caroline Palmer were married at Nuserabad.

The Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough, a canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: "In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed." On 12th March 1828 [his son] Trevor Wheler 11th Baronet was born to Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 26) and [his wife] Caroline Palmer at Muttra, India.

On 4th February 1830 [his father] Trevor Wheler 8th Baronet (age 66) died at Woodseat, Rocester. He was buried at Rocester, Staffordshire [Map]. His son [his brother] Trevor (age 37) succeeded 9th Baronet Wheler of the City of Westminster. Lucy Dandridge Lady Wheler by marriage Lady Wheler of the City of Westminster.

In January 1833 [his wife] Caroline Palmer died.

On 18th November 1841 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 40) and Elizabeth Bishop Lady Wheler were married at Lucknow.

In 1851 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 49) was promoted to Major of the Bengal Light Cavalry.

On 21st June 1852 [his son] Trevor Wheler 11th Baronet (age 24) and [his daughter-in-law] Cordelia Mary Jane Scott Lady Wheler were married at Simla.

In 1854 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 52) was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel of the Bengal Light Cavalry.

In 1857 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 55) was promoted to Brigadier Commander of the Sanger District

In 1861 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 59) was promoted to Commander of the Meerut District

On 6th September 1869 [his brother] Trevor Wheler 9th Baronet (age 76) died at Limerick House, Lemington Priors. He was buried at Old Milverton, Leamington Spa. His brother Francis (age 67) succeeded 10th Baronet Wheler of the City of Westminster. [his wife] Elizabeth Bishop Lady Wheler by marriage Lady Wheler of the City of Westminster.

On 4th April 1878 Francis Wheler 10th Baronet (age 76) died at The Roccles, Sydenham. He was buried at All Saints' Church, Leamington Hastings. His son [his son] Trevor (age 50) succeeded 11th Baronet Wheler of the City of Westminster. [his daughter-in-law] Cordelia Mary Jane Scott Lady Wheler by marriage Lady Wheler of the City of Westminster.

On 16th March 1900 [his former wife] Elizabeth Bishop Lady Wheler died.
