In 1583 George Wharton was born to Philip Wharton 3rd Baron Wharton (age 28) and Frances Clifford Baroness Wharton at Brougham Castle [Map].
In 1592 [his mother] Frances Clifford Baroness Wharton died.
In or before 1609 George Wharton (age 25) and Anne Manners (age 20) were married. She the daughter of John Manners 4th Earl of Rutland and Elizabeth Charlton Countess Rutland. They were fourth cousins.

On 08 Nov 1609 George Wharton (age 26) and James Stewart (age 24) killed each other in a duel at Islington Fields over a game of cards. They were buried together in the same grave in Islington, by the King's command on 10 Nov 1609.
[his father] Philip Wharton 3rd Baron Wharton and [his mother] Frances Clifford Baroness Wharton were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Henry Clifford 2nd Earl of Cumberland and [his grandmother] Anne Dacre Countess Cumberland. They were third cousin once removed.
