On 13th November 1797 Jacob Astley 16th Baron Hastings was born to [his father] Jacob Astley 5th Baronet (age 41) and [his mother] Hester Browne Lady Astley (age 29).
On 27th March 1802 [his grandfather] Edward Astley 4th Baronet (age 72) died. He was buried at St Peter's Church, Melton Constable [Map]. His son [his father] Jacob (age 45) succeeded 5th Baronet Astley of Hill Morton. [his mother] Hester Browne Lady Astley (age 34) by marriage Lady Astley of Hill Morton.
On 28th April 1817 [his father] Jacob Astley 5th Baronet (age 60) died. His son Jacob (age 19) succeeded 6th Baronet Astley of Hill Morton.
In 1819 Jacob Astley 16th Baron Hastings (age 21) and Georgiana Carolina Dashwood Lady Astley (age 23) were married. She by marriage Lady Astley of Hill Morton.
On 21st March 1822 [his son] Jacob Henry Delaval Astley 17th Baron Hastings was born to Jacob Astley 16th Baron Hastings (age 24) and [his wife] Georgiana Carolina Dashwood Lady Astley (age 26).
On 24th March 1825 [his son] Delaval Loftus Astley 18th Baron Hastings was born to Jacob Astley 16th Baron Hastings (age 27) and [his wife] Georgiana Carolina Dashwood Lady Astley (age 29). He married before 1855 Frances Diana Manners-Sutton Baroness Hastings, daughter of Charles Manners-Sutton 1st Viscount Canterbury and Lucy Maria Denison, and had issue.
Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke
Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

On 13th January 1855 [his mother] Hester Browne Lady Astley (age 87) died.
