Biography of John Lovell 5th Baron Lovel, Baron Holand 1341-1408

Before 26th February 1322 John Mowbray 3rd Baron Mowbray (age 11) and [his future wife] Maud Holland 3rd Baroness Holand, Baroness Lovel (age 12) were married. The marriage was later declared void. They were fourth cousins. He a great x 4 grandson of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England.

In or before 1340 [his father] John Lovell 3rd Baron Lovel (age 25) and [his mother] Isabel Zouche (age 19) were married. They were first cousin once removed. He a great x 5 grandson of King John of England.

Around 1341 John Lovell 5th Baron Lovel, was born to [his father] John Lovell 3rd Baron Lovel (age 26) and [his mother] Isabel Zouche (age 21). Coefficient of inbreeding 3.23%.

In 1347 [his father] John Lovell 3rd Baron Lovel (age 32) died. His son [his brother] John (age 7) succeeded 4th Baron Lovel of Titchmarsh.

On 2nd July 1349 [his mother] Isabel Zouche (age 29) died.

In 1361 [his brother] John Lovell 4th Baron Lovel (age 21) died. His brother John (age 20) succeeded 5th Baron Lovel of Titchmarsh.

Around 1373 [his son] Robert Lovell was born to John Lovell 5th Baron Lovel, (age 32). He married Elizabeth Bryan.

On 16th March 1373 Robert Holland 2nd Baron Holand (age 62) died. His sister [his future wife] Maud (age 63) succeeded 3rd Baroness Holand.

In or before 1375 John Lovell 5th Baron Lovel, (age 33) and Maud Holland 3rd Baroness Holand, Baroness Lovel (age 64) were married. She by marriage Baroness Lovel of Titchmarsh. He by marriage Baron Holand. The difference in their ages was 31 years; she, unusually, being older than him. They were fourth cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England.

Around 1375 [his son] John Lovell 6th Baron Lovel was born to John Lovell 5th Baron Lovel, (age 34) and [his wife] Maud Holland 3rd Baroness Holand, Baroness Lovel (age 65). He married in or before 1397 his half second cousin Eleanor Zouche Baroness Lovel, daughter of William Zouche 3rd Baron Zouche Harringworth and Agnes Greene Baroness Zouche Harringworth, and had issue.

On 10th May 1380 [his wife] Maud Holland 3rd Baroness Holand, Baroness Lovel (age 70) died. Her grandson [his grandson] William succeeded 4th Baron Holand.

In or before 1397 [his son] John Lovell 6th Baron Lovel (age 21) and [his daughter-in-law] Eleanor Zouche Baroness Lovel (age 31) were married. She by marriage Baroness Lovel of Titchmarsh. They were half second cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England.
