The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.
On 21st March 1841 Keomi aka Keytumas Gray was born to Osery Gray at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire [Map]. The year of her birth complicated - the Census records are inconsistent. Her grave states "Died 19 Sep 1914 aged 73" which would make her birth year 1841.

1863. Frederick Sandys (age 33). "Vivien". The subject of the picture is Vivien, also known as the Lady of the Lake, the enchantress of Merlin from Alfred Tennyson's (age 53) poetic work Idylls of the King. The model was Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 21).

Around 1864. Frederick Sandys (age 34). "Morgan-le-Fay". The enchantress of Arthurian legend also known as Morgana. Fay meaning Fairy. The model was Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 22).
In 1865 [her illegitimate son] Frederick Cyril Gray was born illegitimately to Frederick Sandys (age 35) and Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 23).
The Diary of George Price Boyce 1865. 5th December 1865. December 5. To Gabriel Rossetti's at Chelsea. He at home and Wm. and Fanny—Sandys and his gipsy girl (Kiomi (age 24)) there also.
In 1867 [her illegitimate daughter] Madeline Gray was born illegitimately to Frederick Sandys (age 37) and Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 25).
1868. Frederick Sandys (age 38). "Medea". From Wikipeadia: In Greek mythology, Medea is the daughter of King Aeëtes of Colchis, a niece of Circe and the granddaughter of the sun god Helios. Medea figures in the myth of Jason and the Argonauts, appearing in Hesiod's Theogony around 700 BC, but best known from Euripides's tragedy Medea and Apollonius of Rhodes' epic Argonautica. Medea is known in most stories as a sorceress and is often depicted as a priestess of the goddess Hecate. The model was Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 26).
In 1868 [her illegitimate son] Henry Herbert Gray was born illegitimately to Frederick Sandys (age 38) and Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 26).
On 24th September 1875 Charles Stewart Bonnett (age 22) and Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 34) were married at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk [Map].

The Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough, a canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: "In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed." On 19th September 1914 Keomi aka Keytumas Gray (age 73) died at Gorleston on Sea, Norfolk [Map]. She was buried at the Old Cemetery, Gorleston on Sea [Map].
