Published March 2025. The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Henry Neville 5th Earl of Westmoreland (age 11) and Anne Manners Countess of Westmoreland (age 9) were married. She the daughter of Thomas Manners 1st Earl of Rutland (age 44) and Eleanor Paston Countess Rutland (age 41). He the son of Ralph Neville 4th Earl of Westmoreland (age 38) and Katherine Stafford Countess of Westmoreland (age 37). They were half fourth cousins. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland (age 9) and Margaret Neville Countess Rutland were married. She the daughter of Ralph Neville 4th Earl of Westmoreland and Katherine Stafford Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of Thomas Manners 1st Earl of Rutland and Eleanor Paston Countess Rutland. They were half fourth cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England.
John de Vere 16th Earl of Oxford (age 20) and Dorothy Neville Countess of Oxford were married. She the daughter of Ralph Neville 4th Earl of Westmoreland and Katherine Stafford Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of John de Vere 15th Earl of Oxford (age 65) and Elizabeth Trussell Countess of Oxford.
Those present included Thomas Audley 1st Baron Audley Walden (age 48), Thomas Howard 3rd Duke of Norfolk (age 63), Charles Brandon 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 52), Henry Grey 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 19), Henry Courtenay 1st Marquess Exeter (age 40), John de Vere 15th Earl of Oxford and Ralph Neville 4th Earl of Westmoreland.
On 20 Sep 1543 [her father-in-law] Thomas Manners 1st Earl of Rutland (age 51) died. He was buried in the Chancel of St Mary the Virgin Church, Bottesford, Leicestershire [Map]. His son [her husband] Henry (age 16) succeeded 2nd Earl of Rutland, 13th Baron Ros Helmsley. Margaret Neville Countess Rutland by marriage Countess of Rutland.
On 02 Jul 1549 [her son] Edward Manners 3rd Earl of Rutland was born to [her husband] Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland (age 22) and Margaret Neville Countess Rutland.
Around 1551 [her son] John Manners 4th Earl of Rutland was born to [her husband] Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland (age 24) and Margaret Neville Countess Rutland.
Around 1553 [her daughter] Elizabeth Manners was born to [her husband] Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland (age 26) and Margaret Neville Countess Rutland.
After 1559 [her husband] Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland (age 32) and Bridget Hussey Countess Bedford (age 33) were married. He the son of [her father-in-law] Thomas Manners 1st Earl of Rutland and [her mother-in-law] Eleanor Paston Countess Rutland. They were fourth cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
Before 13 Oct 1559 Margaret Neville Countess Rutland was appointed Lady in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth I of England and Ireland (age 26).

Henry Machyn's Diary. 13 Oct 1559. The xiij day of October at nyght ded the good lade the contes of Ruttland at Halewell [Map], sum-tyme yt was a nunre, that ser Thomas Lovell dyd beld yt for hym.
Henry Machyn's Diary. 20 Oct 1559. The xx day of October they begane to make a herse for my lade the contes of Rutland at Sordyche [Map]; yt was garnysshed with armes and penselles, and all the chyrche hangyd with blake and armes.
Note. P. 216. Funeral of the countess of Rutland. Margaret daughter of [her father] Ralph earl of Westmerland, wife of [her husband] Henry (age 33) second earl of Rutland, K.G. The conjoint monument of this lady, her mother, and two other female relations, has been already noticed in p. 343.
Henry Machyn's Diary. 21 Oct 1559. The xxj day of October was cared from Halewell [Map] unto Sordyche chyrche my lade the contes of Rutland, with xxx [30] clarkes and prestes syngyng, and mony pore men and powre women in blake gownes a lx [60] and mo, morners to the nomber of a C [100] and ij [2] haroldes of armes, master Garter (age 49) and master Yorke; then cam the corsse; a-for a grett baner of armes, and a-bowt her iiij [4] goodly banerrolles of dyvers armes; and master Beycon mad the sermon; and after a grett dolle of money, ij d [2 pence] a-pesse; and so to dener, and yt was wryten a-bowt the valans Sic transit gloria mundi, and ther was vj [6] dosen penselles and vj [6] dosen skochyons.
On 17 Sep 1563 [her husband] Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland (age 36) died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Bottesford, Leicestershire [Map]. His son [her son] Edward (age 14) succeeded 3rd Earl of Rutland, 14th Baron Ros Helmsley. Edward Manners 3rd Earl of Rutland became a ward of Queen Elizabeth I of England and Ireland (age 30) and was specially under the charge of William Cecil 1st Baron Burghley (age 43).
After 17 Sep 1563. Alabaster Monument to [her former husband] Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland (deceased) and Margaret Neville Countess Rutland at St Mary the Virgin Church, Bottesford, Leicestershire [Map].
Monument an unusual Table Tomb with their effigies beneath surmounted by effigies of their children. The table may once have been raised in the same way as the one at St Lawrence's Church, Snarford [Map] to Thomas St Paul which may be by the same carver.
