Published March 2025. The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Baron Bergavenny is a complex Barony. When [her father] Henry Neville 6th and 4th Baron Bergavenny died in 1587 there was some confusion as to whether the Barony descended in the male and female lines ie heirs general, which is considered to be the valid line, or whether it was constrained to male onle. If the former then Henry's daughter Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer should have inherited, if the latter her cousin Edward Neville 7th and 5th Baron Bergavenny should have inherited. In the event Edward Neville 7th and 5th Baron Bergavenny and his descendants held the Barony, as well as the second creation Baron Bergavenny. If the claim of Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer was valid, she and her descendants, the Earls of Westmoreland, should have been the Barons of the 1st Creation.
In or before 1554 [her father] Henry Neville 6th and 4th Baron Bergavenny (age 23) and [her mother] Frances Manners Baroness Bergavenny (age 23) were married. She by marriage Baroness Bergavenny. She the daughter of [her grandfather] Thomas Manners 1st Earl of Rutland and [her grandmother] Eleanor Paston Countess Rutland. They were third cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward III of England. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
In 1554 Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer was born to Henry Neville 6th and 4th Baron Bergavenny (age 24) and Frances Manners Baroness Bergavenny (age 24).
Around 1564 [her future husband] Thomas Fane (age 54) and Elizabeth Culpepper (age 18) were married. The difference in their ages was 36 years.
On 12 Dec 1574 Thomas Fane (age 64) and Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer (age 20) were married at Birling, Kent [Map]. The difference in their ages was 44 years. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
In Sep 1576 [her mother] Frances Manners Baroness Bergavenny (age 46) died at Birling, Kent [Map].
On 01 Feb 1580 [her son] Francis Fane 1st Earl of Westmoreland was born to [her husband] Thomas Fane (age 70) and Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer (age 26).
In 1581 [her son] George Fane of Burston was born to [her husband] Thomas Fane (age 71) and Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer (age 27).
On 10 Feb 1587 [her father] Henry Neville 6th and 4th Baron Bergavenny (age 57) died. His first cousin Edward (age 61) succeeded 7th Baron Bergavenny, 5th Baron Bergavenny. By modern doctrine the successor should have been Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer (age 33). She was subsequently awarded the Despencer Barony in compensation.
On 12 Mar 1589 [her husband] Thomas Fane (age 79) died.
On 15 Feb 1598 [her son] Francis Fane 1st Earl of Westmoreland (age 18) and [her daughter-in-law] Mary Mildmay Countess of Westmoreland (age 16) were married.
On 25 May 1604 Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer (age 50) abeyance terminated 3rd Baroness Despencer with precedence from 1264. The abeyance termination was of the third creation since she was the 3rd Baroness, and none of the previous creations had only two holders?
In Sep 1607 [her son] George Fane of Burston (age 26) and [her daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Spencer (age 17) were married.
On 10 Jan 1608 the Ben Johnson (age 36) Masque of Beauty was performed at the Banqueting House, Whitehall Palace [Map] to celebrate the completion of its refurburbishment. King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland (age 41) attended.

On 28 Jun 1626 Mary Neville 3rd Baroness Despencer (age 72) died. She was buried at Mereworth, Kent. Her son [her son] Francis (age 46) succeeded 4th Baron Despencer. [her daughter-in-law] Mary Mildmay Countess of Westmoreland (age 44) by marriage Baroness Despencer.
