Biography of Paul Pechell 1st Baronet 1724-1800

In or before 1716 [his father] Lieutenant-Colonel Jacob Pechell of Owenstown, County Kildare and [his mother] Jane Boyd were married.

On 12th November 1724 Paul Pechell 1st Baronet was born to Lieutenant-Colonel Jacob Pechell of Owenstown, County Kildare and Jane Boyd at Owenstown, Kildare.

In 1744 Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 19) entered the army as Cornet in the 1st Dragoons, serving two campaigns in Flanders, and being, when Captain 36th Foot, wounded at the Battle of Laffeldt, 2 July 1747.

In 1751 Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 26) was promoted to Captain in the 2nd Dragoon Guards.

On 11th February 1752 Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 27) and Mary Brooke Lady Pechell were married.

On 23rd January 1753 [his son] Thomas Brooke-Pechell 2nd Baronet was born to Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 28) and [his wife] Mary Brooke Lady Pechell.

In 1754 Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 29) transferred to the 2nd Horse Grenadiers of which he became Lieutenant-Colonel in 1762.

In or after 1754 [his son] Augustus Pechell of Berkhampstead in Hertfordshire was born to Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 29) and [his wife] Mary Brooke Lady Pechell. Some sources state his birth as 1752 which is inconsistent with his brother [his son] Thomas succeeding as second Baronet.

On 28th April 1783 [his son] Thomas Brooke-Pechell 2nd Baronet (age 30) and [his daughter-in-law] Charlotte Clavering Lady Pechell (age 24) were married.

On 1st March 1797 Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 72) was created 1st Baronet Pechell of Paglesham in Essex. [his wife] Mary Brooke Lady Pechell by marriage Lady Pechell of Paglesham in Essex.

On 13th January 1800 Paul Pechell 1st Baronet (age 75) died. His son [his son] Thomas (age 46) succeeded 2nd Baronet Pechell of Paglesham in Essex. [his daughter-in-law] Charlotte Clavering Lady Pechell (age 41) by marriage Lady Pechell of Paglesham in Essex.

In October 1800 [his former wife] Mary Brooke Lady Pechell died.
