In 1593 Penelope Darcy Lady Gage was born to [her father] Thomas Darcy 1st Earl Rivers (age 28) and [her mother] Mary Kitson Countess Rivers (age 25) at St Osyth's, Essex.

Around 1597 [her son] Thomas Gage 2nd Baronet was born to [her future husband] John Gage 1st Baronet (age 27) and Penelope Darcy Lady Gage (age 4). He married before 2nd July 1654 Mary Chamberlain Lady Gage and Goring and had issue.

On 14th May 1602 [her brother-in-law] Thomas Savage 1st Viscount Savage (age 16) and [her sister] Elizabeth Darcy 1st Countess Rivers (age 21) were married. She the daughter of [her father] Thomas Darcy 1st Earl Rivers (age 37) and [her mother] Mary Kitson Countess Rivers (age 35).

On 28th June 1611 John Gage 1st Baronet (age 41) and Penelope Darcy Lady Gage (age 18) were married. The difference in their ages was 23 years. She the daughter of Thomas Darcy 1st Earl Rivers (age 46) and Mary Kitson Countess Rivers (age 44).

In 1612 [her future husband] William Hervey (age 25) and Susan Jermyn (age 21) were married.

In 1613 [her brother-in-law] Thomas Savage 1st Viscount Savage (age 27) was created 1st Baron Darcy of Chiche. He the son-in-law of the last Baron of the 1513 creation [her father] Thomas Darcy 1st Earl Rivers (age 48).

On 14th July 1615 John Savage 1st Baronet (age 65) died. His son [her brother-in-law] Thomas (age 29) succeeded 2nd Baronet Savage of Rocksavage in Cheshire. [her sister] Elizabeth Darcy 1st Countess Rivers (age 34) by marriage Lady Savage of Rocksavage in Cheshire.

Around 1617 [her son] Edward Gage 1st Baronet was born to [her husband] John Gage 1st Baronet (age 47) and Penelope Darcy Lady Gage (age 24) at Firle, East Sussex. He married (1) 1648 Mary Hervey Lady Gage and had issue (2) before 1669 Anne Watkins Lady Gage (3) before 1669 his fifth cousin once removed Bridget Feilding Lady Gage, daughter of George Feilding 1st Earl Desmond and Bridget Stanhope Countess Desmond (4) before 1669 Frances Aston Lady Gage, daughter of Walter Aston 2nd Baronet and Mary Weston (5) before 1680 his fifth cousin once removed Frances Feilding Lady Gage, daughter of George Feilding 1st Earl Desmond and Bridget Stanhope Countess Desmond.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 4th November 1626 [her father] Thomas Darcy 1st Earl Rivers (age 61) was created 1st Earl Rivers with a special remainder to his grandson [her nephew] John Savage 2nd Earl Rivers (age 23). [her mother] Mary Kitson Countess Rivers (age 59) by marriage Countess Rivers.

On 4th November 1626 [her brother-in-law] Thomas Savage 1st Viscount Savage (age 40) was created 1st Viscount Savage. [her sister] Elizabeth Darcy 1st Countess Rivers (age 45) by marriage Viscountess Savage.

On 3rd October 1633 [her husband] John Gage 1st Baronet (age 63) died. His son [her son] Thomas (age 36) succeeded 2nd Baronet Gage of Firley in Sussex.

Before 1639 [her son-in-law] Lewis Tresham 1st Baronet (age 63) and [her daughter] Frances Gage Lady Tresham were married.

On 25th February 1640 [her father] Thomas Darcy 1st Earl Rivers (age 75) died at Winchester House Broad Street. His grandson [her nephew] John (age 37) succeeded 2nd Earl Rivers, 2nd Viscount Colchester. Baron Darcy of Chiche extinct.

In 1641 [her sister] Elizabeth Darcy 1st Countess Rivers (age 60) was created 1st Countess Rivers for life by King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland (age 40) since she had been passed over when her father's Earldom Countess Rivers passed from her father to her eldest son [her nephew] John Savage 2nd Earl Rivers (age 37).

In 1642 William Hervey (age 55) and Penelope Darcy Lady Gage (age 49) were married. She the daughter of Thomas Darcy 1st Earl Rivers and Mary Kitson Countess Rivers (age 74).

On 28th June 1644 [her mother] Mary Kitson Countess Rivers (age 77) died.

Jean de Waurin's Chronicle of England Volume 6 Books 3-6: The Wars of the Roses

Jean de Waurin was a French Chronicler, from the Artois region, who was born around 1400, and died around 1474. Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

In 1658 [her step-son] John Hervey (age 41) and Elizabeth Hervey were married.

Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes

Récits d’un bourgeois de Valenciennes aka The Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes is a vivid 14th-century vernacular chronicle written by an anonymous urban chronicler from Valenciennes in the County of Hainaut.
