On 20th August 1926 [his daughter] Bridget Assheton Lady Worsley was born to Ralph Assheton 1st Baron Clitheroe (age 25) and [his wife] Sylvia Benita Frances Hotham Baroness Clitheroe. She married 10th December 1955 William Marcus Worsley 5th Baronet, son of William Arthington Worsley 4th Baronet and Joyce Morgan Brunner Lady Worsley, and had issue.
On 3rd November 1929 [his son] Ralph John Assheton 2nd Baron Clitheroe was born to Ralph Assheton 1st Baron Clitheroe (age 28) and [his wife] Sylvia Benita Frances Hotham Baroness Clitheroe.
In 1934 Ralph Assheton 1st Baron Clitheroe (age 32) was elected MP Rushcliffe which seat he held until 1945.
In 1942 Ralph Assheton 1st Baron Clitheroe (age 40) was appointed Finance Secretary of the Treasury which office he held until 1945.
In 1945 Ralph Assheton 1st Baron Clitheroe (age 43) was elected MP City of London which seat he held until 1950.
On 4th September 1945 [his father] Ralph Cockayne Assheton 1st Baronet (age 84) was created 1st Baronet Assheton of Downham in Lancaster.
In 1950 Ralph Assheton 1st Baron Clitheroe (age 48) was elected MP Blackburn West which seat he held until 1955.
Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

On 21st September 1955 [his father] Ralph Cockayne Assheton 1st Baronet (age 95) died. His son Ralph (age 54) succeeded 2nd Baronet Assheton of Downham in Lancaster.
On 10th December 1955 [his son-in-law] William Marcus Worsley 5th Baronet (age 30) and [his daughter] Bridget Assheton Lady Worsley (age 29) were married.
In 1984 Ralph Assheton 1st Baron Clitheroe (age 82) died. His son Ralph (age 54) succeeded 2nd Baron Clitheroe of Downham in Lancashire, 3rd Baronet Assheton of Downham in Lancaster.
Around 14th January 1991 [his former wife] Sylvia Benita Frances Hotham Baroness Clitheroe died.
