On 3rd January 1747 Robert Henley 2nd Earl Northington was born to Robert Henley 1st Earl Northington (age 39) and Jane Huband.
In 1763 Robert Henley 2nd Earl Northington (age 15) was appointed Teller of the Exchequer which office he held until his death.
On 30th March 1768 Robert Henley 2nd Earl Northington (age 21) was elected MP Hampshire which seat he held until he succeeded to his father's title on 14th Jan 1772.
In 1771 Robert Henley 2nd Earl Northington (age 23) was appointed Clerk of the hanaper for life.
On 14th January 1772 [his father] Robert Henley 1st Earl Northington (age 64) died. His son Robert (age 25) succeeded 2nd Earl Northington.
On 18th August 1773 Robert Henley 2nd Earl Northington (age 26) was appointed 57th Knight of the Thistle.

In 1783 Robert Henley 2nd Earl Northington (age 35) was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Ireland which office he held until the 12th of February 1784.
On 5th July 1786 Robert Henley 2nd Earl Northington (age 39) died unmarried. He was buried at St John the Evangelist Church, Winchester. Earl Northington extinct.
