The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. Originally penned in Latin by the monk William of Jumièges shortly before 1060 and later expanded at the behest of William the Conqueror, the work chronicles the deeds, politics, battles, and leadership of the Norman dukes, especially William’s own claim to the English throne. On 27th October 1753 Robert John Buxton 1st Baronet was born to [his father] John Buxton.
On 22nd May 1777 Robert John Buxton 1st Baronet (age 23) and Juliana Mary Beevor were married at St George's Church, Hanover Square.
On 13th August 1788 [his son] John Jacob Buxton 2nd Baronet was born to Robert John Buxton 1st Baronet (age 34). He married 5th August 1825 Elizabeth Cholmeley, daughter of Montague Cholmeley 1st Baronet and Elizabeth Harrison Lady Cholmeley, and had issue.
In 1790 Robert John Buxton 1st Baronet (age 36) was elected MP Thetford and held the seat until 1796.
In 1797 Robert John Buxton 1st Baronet (age 43) was elected MP Great Bedwyn and held the seat until 1806.
On 25th November 1800 Robert John Buxton 1st Baronet (age 47) was created 1st Baronet Buxton of Shadwell Lodge in Norfolk.
On 5th August 1825 [his son] John Jacob Buxton 2nd Baronet (age 36) and [his daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Cholmeley were married at St George's Church, Hanover Square.
On 7th June 1839 Robert John Buxton 1st Baronet (age 85) died. His son John (age 50) succeeded 2nd Baronet Buxton of Shadwell Lodge in Norfolk.
