Biography of Robert Lawley 1st Baron Wenlock 1768-1834

Paternal Family Tree: Lawley

In 1768 Robert Lawley 1st Baron Wenlock was born to [his father] Robert Lawley 5th Baronet [aged 32] and [his mother] Jane Thompson [aged 25].

On 28th November 1779 [his grandfather] Robert Lawley 4th Baronet died. His son [his father] Robert [aged 43] succeeded 5th Baronet Lawley of Spoonhill in Shropshire.

In 1793 Robert Lawley 1st Baron Wenlock [aged 25] and Anna Maria Denison Baroness Wenlock [aged 22] were married. There was no issue from the marriage.

On 11th March 1793 [his father] Robert Lawley 5th Baronet [aged 57] died. His son Robert [aged 25] succeeded 6th Baronet Lawley of Spoonhill in Shropshire.

On 5th July 1794 Henry Conyngham 1st Marquess Conyngham [aged 27] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Denison Marchioness Conyngham [aged 25] were married.

In 1797 Robert Lawley 1st Baron Wenlock [aged 29] was appointed High Sheriff of Staffordshire.

In January 1816 Henry Conyngham 1st Marquess Conyngham [aged 49] was created 1st Marquess Conyngham in Donegal. [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Denison Marchioness Conyngham [aged 46] by marriage Marchioness Conyngham in Donegal.

On 9th November 1816 [his mother] Jane Thompson [aged 73] died.

In 1817 [his brother] Paul Thompson 1st Baron Wenlock [aged 32] and [his sister-in-law] Caroline Griffin Baroness Wenlock were married.

In 1831 Robert Lawley 1st Baron Wenlock [aged 63] was created 1st Baron Wenlock of Wenlock in Shropshire. [his wife] Anna Maria Denison Baroness Wenlock [aged 60] by marriage Baroness Wenlock of Wenlock in Shropshire.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 10th April 1834 Robert Lawley 1st Baron Wenlock [aged 66] died. Baron Wenlock of Wenlock in Shropshire extinct. His brother Francis [aged 52] succeeded 7th Baronet Lawley of Spoonhill in Shropshire.

On 20th August 1850 [his former wife] Anna Maria Denison Baroness Wenlock [aged 79] died.
