Biography of Rushout Cullen 3rd Baronet 1661-1730

On 10th December 1650 [his father] Abraham Cullen 1st Baronet (age 26) and [his mother] Abigail Rushout were married.

In 1661 Rushout Cullen 3rd Baronet was born to Abraham Cullen 1st Baronet (age 37) and Abigail Rushout.

On 28th August 1668 [his father] Abraham Cullen 1st Baronet (age 44) died. His son [his brother] John (age 16) succeeded 2nd Baronet Cullen of East Sheen in Surrey.

In 1677 [his brother] John Cullen 2nd Baronet (age 25) died. His brother Rushout (age 16) succeeded 3rd Baronet Cullen of East Sheen in Surrey.

On 13th April 1686 Rushout Cullen 3rd Baronet (age 25) and Mary Maynard were married.

In or before 1687 William Adams (age 29) and [his wife] Mary Maynard were married.

On 16th December 1693 Rushout Cullen 3rd Baronet (age 32) was elected MPCambridgeshire at a by-election.

On 21st December 1693 Rushout Cullen 3rd Baronet (age 32) stood for MPCambridgeshire at a by-election. He lost by seven votes to John Cutts, 1st Baron Cutts.

Around 1694 [his wife] Mary Maynard died.

On 19th July 1696 Rushout Cullen 3rd Baronet (age 35) and Eleanor Jarrett were married.

On or after 17th June 1714 [his son-in-law] John Dutton 2nd Baronet (age 30) and [his daughter] Mary Cullen were married with a settlement of £12500 by a licence dated 17th June 1714.

In May 1719 [his daughter] Mary Cullen died.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 15th October 1730 Rushout Cullen 3rd Baronet (age 69) died. Baronet Cullen of East Sheen in Surrey extinct.
