Anne Boleyn. Her Life as told by Lancelot de Carle's 1536 Letter.
In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

Around 1495 Thomas Bilney was born.
Around 1510 Thomas Bilney (age 15) entered Trinity Hall, Cambridge University.
Around 1520 John Frith (age 17) was educated at Eton College [Map] and after at Queen's College, Cambridge University [Map] where his tutor was Bishop Stephen Gardiner (age 37) who was subsequently involved in his trial. At Cambridge he met Thomas Bilney (age 25).
In 1525 Thomas Bilney (age 30) obtained a licence to preach throughout the diocese of Ely. He denounced saint and relic veneration, together with pilgrimages to Walsingham and Canterbury, and refused to accept the mediation of the saints.
In 1529 Thomas Bilney (age 34) was released from the Tower of London [Map]. Churches being no longer open to him, he preached openly in the fields, finally arriving in Norwich, where the bishop, Richard Nix (age 82), caused him to be arrested.
On 15 or 19th August 1531 Thomas Bilney (age 36) was burned at the stake at Norwich, Norfolk [Map] as described in Wriothesley's Chronicle.
Wriothesley's Chronicle [1508-1562]. 16th August 1531. This yeare was one burnt at Maidestone [Map] for heresie, and one Bylney (age 36),g a priest, disgraded and burnt at Norwich, Norfolk [Map] for heresie.
