In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

On 5th August 1886 [her brother-in-law] Charles Alfred Worsley Anderson 4th Earl Yarborough [aged 27] and [her sister] Marcia Amelia Mary Lane-Fox Countess Yarborough [aged 22] were married. She by marriage Countess Yarborough. He the son of Charles Anderson-Pelham 3rd Earl Yarborough and Victoria Alexandrina Hare.
On 24th August 1888 [her father] Sackville George Lane-Fox 15th Baron Darcy of Knayth 12th Baron Conyers [aged 60] died. Baron Conyers and Baron Darcy of Knayth abeyant between his two daughters [her sister] Marcia Amelia Mary Lane-Fox Countess Yarborough [aged 24] and Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox Countess Powis [aged 23].
Around December 1890 George Herbert 4th Earl Powis [aged 28] and Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox Countess Powis [aged 25] were married.
On 7th May 1891 Edward Herbert 3rd Earl Powis [aged 72] died unmarried at 45 Berkeley Square, Mayfair. He was buried in St Mary's Church, Welshpool. His nephew [her husband] George [aged 28] succeeded 4th Earl Powis. Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox Countess Powis [aged 26] by marriage Countess Powis.
In 1892 [her son] Percy Robert Herbert was born to [her husband] George Herbert 4th Earl Powis [aged 29] and Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox Countess Powis [aged 27].
On 8th July 1892 [her sister] Marcia Amelia Mary Lane-Fox Countess Yarborough [aged 28] abeyance terminated 13th Baroness Conyers.
In 1900 [her daughter] Hermione Gwladys Herbert was born to [her husband] George Herbert 4th Earl Powis [aged 37] and Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox Countess Powis [aged 35].

On 7th May 1904 [her son] Mervyn Horatio Herbert 17th Baron Darcy of Knayth was born to [her husband] George Herbert 4th Earl Powis [aged 41] and Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox Countess Powis [aged 39]. He married 1934 Vida Cuthbert Baroness Darcy and had issue.

The marriage of Viscount Acheson, elder son of the Earl [aged 68] and Countess of Gosford [aged 54], and Miss Mildred Carter, only daughter of Mr. J. Ridgely Carter [aged 46], American Minister to Rumania, and Mrs. Ridgely Carter [aged 45], took place yesterday at St. George's, Hanover-square. The Sub-Dean of the Chapels Royal (the Rev. Edgar Sheppard, D.D.) performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. David Anderson and other clergy, and Mr. Ridgely Carter gave his daughter away. She wore a very simple wedding gown of soft white satin with a long train draped with old point de Venise, and a Venetian lace cap over a spray of myrtle and orange blossom, covered by a plain tulle veil. Master David Stanley, Master Julian Ward, and Miss Diana Roberts, dressed all in white, followed the bride, and there were seven bridesmaids, Lady Theo Acheson [aged 28] (sister of the bridegroom), Lady Victoria Stanley, Mlle. Irene deo La Grange, Miss Canilla Morgan, the Hon. Rhoda Astley, Miss Elsie Nicholl, and Miss Marian Scranton, who wore white chiffon dresses with draped bodices and wreaths of myrtle beneath tulle veils. They also wore diamond neckislides and carried loose bunches of red roses. The Hon. Patrick Acheson [aged 26] was best man to his brother.
