Biography of Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale 1890-1956

Paternal Family Tree: Beaumont of Allendale

On 12th November 1889 [his father] Wentworth Canning Blackett Beaumont 1st Viscount Allendale (age 28) and [his mother] Alexandrina Louise Maud Vane-Tempest Viscountess Allendale (age 26) were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] George Henry Vane-Tempest 5th Marquess Londonderry and [his grandmother] Mary Cornelia Edwards Marchioness Londonderry (age 60).

On 6th August 1890 Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale was born to Wentworth Canning Blackett Beaumont 1st Viscount Allendale (age 29) and Alexandrina Louise Maud Vane-Tempest Viscountess Allendale (age 26).

On 20th July 1921 Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale (age 30) and Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale (age 24) were married at St Martin in the Fields Church [Map].

On 12th September 1922 [his son] Wentworth Beaumont 3rd Viscount Allendale was born to Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale (age 32) and [his wife] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale (age 25).

On 12th December 1923 [his father] Wentworth Canning Blackett Beaumont 1st Viscount Allendale (age 63) died. His son Wentworth (age 33) succeeded 2nd Viscount Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland, 3rd Baron Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland. [his wife] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale (age 26) by marriage Viscountess Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland.

On 27th May 1925 [his daughter] Ela Helen Aline Beaumont Countess Carlisle was born to Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale (age 34) and [his wife] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale (age 28).

On 13th August 1926 [his son] Richard Blackett Beaumont was born to Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale (age 36) and [his wife] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale (age 29).

Around 1929 William Boustead Dickenson sold Bolam Hall, Northumberland [Map] to Maj. Richard Straker; sold or leased to Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale (age 38).

The Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough, a canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: "In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed." On 31st July 1945 [his mother] Alexandrina Louise Maud Vane-Tempest Viscountess Allendale (age 81) died.

On 3rd October 1945 [his son-in-law] Charles James Ruthven Howard 12th Earl Carlisle (age 22) and [his daughter] Ela Helen Aline Beaumont Countess Carlisle (age 20) were married. She by marriage Countess Carlisle. He the son of George Josslyn L'Estrange Howard 11th Earl Carlisle (age 50) and Bridget Helen "Biddy" Ruthven Countess Carlisle (age 49).

In 1951 Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale (age 60) was appointed 909th Knight of the Garter by King George VI of the United Kingdom (age 55).

On 16th December 1956 Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale (age 66) died. His son [his son] Wentworth (age 34) succeeded 3rd Viscount Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland, 4th Baron Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland.

On 6th May 1979 [his former wife] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale (age 82) died.
