Around 1564 William Skipwith was born to [his father] Henry Skipwith and [his mother] Jane Hall.

In 1588 [his father] Henry Skipwith died.

Before 21st May 1589 William Skipwith (age 25) and Margaret Cave (age 22) were married. They had four sons and four daughters.

On 21st May 1589 [his son] Henry Skipwith 1st Baronet was born to William Skipwith (age 25) and [his wife] Margaret Cave (age 22). He married before 16th September 1615 Ann Kemp Lady Skipwith and had issue.

Before 22nd August 1594 John Markham of Sidebrook and [his future wife] Jane Roberts (age 30) were married.

On 22nd August 1594 [his wife] Margaret Cave (age 27) died.

After 22nd August 1594 William Skipwith (age 30) and Jane Roberts (age 30) were married.

In 1598 William Skipwith (age 34) was appointed High Sheriff of Leicestershire.

In 1601 William Skipwith (age 37) was elected MP Leicestershire.

On 21st April 1603 William Skipwith (age 39) was knighted by King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland (age 36) at Worksop Manor whilst King James was travelling to London following the Union of the Crowns.

On 18th June 1603 William Skipwith (age 39) met Anne of Denmark Queen Consort Scotland England and Ireland (age 28) at Worksop Manor, and she and her son Prince Henry (age 9) went on to stay in his house at Leicester on 23rd June 1603, despite fears of plague. Princess Elizabeth (age 6) stayed at the house of Mr Pilkington.

In 1604 William Skipwith (age 40) was elected MP Leicester.

On 15th August 1604 and 16th August 1604 Prince Charles (age 3) and Alexander Seton (age 49) lodged at the Leicester townhouse of William Skipwith (age 40) on their way to London.

On 3rd May 1610 William Skipwith (age 46) died.

Before 4th April 1630 [his former wife] Jane Roberts (age 66) died.
