The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

Around 1722 William Trelawny 6th Baronet was born to Captain William Trelawny (age 26) and Mary Bisset.
On 25th June 1754 William Trelawny 6th Baronet (age 32) and Laetitia Trelawny (age 26) were married at Maker, Cornwall. They had a son and a daughter. They were first cousins.
On 26th June 1756 [his son] Harry Trelawny 7th Baronet was born to William Trelawny 6th Baronet (age 34) and [his wife] Laetitia Trelawny (age 28). Coefficient of inbreeding 8.01%.
In 1757 William Trelawny 6th Baronet (age 35) was elected MP West Looe which seat he held until 1767.
On 7th April 1762 [his uncle] Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet (age 75) died. His nephew William (age 40) succeeded 6th Baronet Trelawny of Trelawny in Cornwall.
In 1767 William Trelawny 6th Baronet (age 45) was appointed Governor of Jamaica which post he held until his death.
On 11th December 1772 [his wife] Laetitia Trelawny (age 44) died.
On 11th December 1772 William Trelawny 6th Baronet (age 50) died. His son [his son] Harry (age 16) succeeded 7th Baronet Trelawny of Trelawny in Cornwall.
