3rd. 23rd July 1796. Charles Medows aka Pierrepont 1st Earl Manvers 1737-1816. Extinct. 13th February 1955.

Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint 1st Creation 1627

Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint is also in Baronies of England Chronologically, Extinct Baronies of England.

On 29th June 1627 Robert Pierrepont 1st Earl Kingston (age 42) was created 1st Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint. Gertrude Talbot Baroness Pierrepont Holme Pierrepoint (age 46) by marriage Baroness Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.

On 16th July 1643 Francis Willoughby 5th Baron Willoughby of Parham launched a night attack on Gainsborough [Map] and captured it and Robert Pierrepont 1st Earl Kingston (age 58).

On 25th July 1643 Robert Pierrepont 1st Earl Kingston Was accidentally shot and killed while a prisoner on board a vessel bound for Hull. His son Henry (age 37) succeeded 2nd Earl Kingston upon Hull, 2nd Viscount Newark, 2nd Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint. Catherine Stanley Marchioness Dorchester by marriage Countess Kingston upon Hull.

On 8th December 1680 Henry Pierrepont 1st Marquess Dorchester (age 74) died. He was buried at Holme Pierrepoint, Nottinghamshire [Map]. Marquess Dorchester extinct. His great nephew Robert (age 20) succeeded 3rd Earl Kingston upon Hull, 3rd Viscount Newark, 3rd Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.

In June 1682 Robert Pierrepont 3rd Earl Kingston (age 22) died at Dieppe, Seine Maritime, Haute Normandie. He was buried at the Church of St Edmund, Holme Pierrepoint [Map]. His brother William (age 20) succeeded 4th Earl Kingston upon Hull, 4th Viscount Newark, 4th Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.

On 17th September 1690 William Pierrepont 4th Earl Kingston (age 28) died at Holme Pierrepoint, Nottinghamshire [Map]. He was buried at the Church of St Edmund, Holme Pierrepoint [Map]. His brother Evelyn (age 35) succeeded 5th Earl Kingston upon Hull, 5th Viscount Newark, 5th Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint. Mary Fielding Countess Kingston upon Hull (age 22) by marriage Countess Kingston upon Hull.

On 5th March 1726 Evelyn Pierrepont 1st Duke Kingston upon Hull (age 71) died. He was buried at the Church of St Edmund, Holme Pierrepoint [Map]. His grandson Evelyn (age 15) succeeded 2nd Duke Kingston upon Hull, 2nd Marquess Dorchester, 6th Earl Kingston upon Hull, 6th Viscount Newark, 6th Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 22nd September 1773 Evelyn Pierrepont 2nd Duke Kingston upon Hull (age 62) died without issue at Holme Pierrepoint Hall, Nottinghamshire. He was buried at the Church of St Edmund, Holme Pierrepoint [Map]. Duke Kingston upon Hull and Marquess Dorchester, Earl Kingston upon Hull, Viscount Newark, Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint extinct. He left all his wealth and property to his wife Elizabeth Chudleigh Duchess Kingston upon Hull (age 52) on the condition she remain a widow.

Baron Pierrepont of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire 2nd Creation 1714

Baron Pierrepont of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire is also in Baronies of England Chronologically, Extinct Baronies of England.

In 1714 Gervase Pierrepont 1st Baron Pierrepont (age 65) was created 1st Baron Pierrepont of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire. Lucy Pelham Baroness Pierrepont Hanslape Buckingham by marriage Baroness Pierrepont of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire.

On 22nd May 1715 Gervase Pierrepont 1st Baron Pierrepont (age 66) died. Baron Pierrepont of Ardglass in Antrim, Baron Pierrepont of Hanslope in Buckinghamshire extinct.

On 16th January 1900 Sydney William Herbert Pierrepont 3rd Earl Manvers (age 75) died. His son Charles (age 45) succeeded 4th Earl Manvers, 4th Viscount Newark, 4th Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.

On 17th July 1926 Charles William Sydney Pierrepont 4th Earl Manvers (age 71) died. His son Evelyn (age 37) succeeded 5th Earl Manvers, 5th Viscount Newark, 5th Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.

On 6th April 1940 Evelyn Robert Pierrepont 5th Earl Manvers (age 51) died. His first cousin Gervas (age 58) succeeded 6th Earl Manvers, 6th Viscount Newark, 6th Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.

On 13th February 1955 Gervas Pierrepont 6th Earl Manvers (age 73) died. Earl Manvers, Viscount Newark, Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint extinct.
