On 15th January 1684 Ralph Stawell 1st Baron Stawell (age 43) was created 1st Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset. Abigail Pitt Baroness Stawell by marriage Baroness Stawell of Somerton in Somerset.

On 8th August 1689 Ralph Stawell 1st Baron Stawell (age 48) died at Low Ham, Somerset. His son John (age 20) succeeded 2nd Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset. Margaret Cecil Countess Ranelagh (age 17) by marriage Baroness Stawell of Somerton in Somerset.

On 30th November 1692 John Stawell 2nd Baron Stawell (age 23) died. His half brother William (age 10) succeeded 3rd Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset.

On 16th March 1707 William Stawell 3rd Baron Stawell (age 25) and Elizabeth Pert Baroness Stawell (age 29) were married. She by marriage Baroness Stawell of Somerton in Somerset.

On 23rd January 1742 William Stawell 3rd Baron Stawell (age 60) died. His brother Edward succeeded 4th Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset.

On 13th April 1755 Edward Stawell 4th Baron Stawell died. Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset extinct. His daughter Mary Stawell 1st Baroness Stawell (age 30) inherited his estates. She was created Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset in 1760.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

In 1760 Mary Stawell 1st Baroness Stawell (age 34) was created 1st Baroness Stawell of Somerton in Somerset. She the daughter of Edward Stawell 4th Baron Stawell.

On 29th July 1780 Mary Stawell 1st Baroness Stawell (age 55) died. Her son Henry (age 23) succeeded 2nd Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset. Mary Curzon Baroness Stawell by marriage Baroness Stawell of Somerton in Somerset.

In 1820 Henry Bilson Legge 2nd Baron Stawell (age 63) died. Baron Stawell of Somerton in Somerset extinct.
