The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

The Queen has been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, granting the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom unto Alfred Tennyson (age 74), Esq., and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Tennyson, of Aldworth, in the county of Sussex, and of Freshwater, in the Isle of Wight. [Emily Sellwood Baroness Tennyson (age 70) by marriage Baroness Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight.]
On 6th October 1892 Alfred Tennyson 1st Baron Tennyson (age 83) died. His son Hallam (age 40) succeeded 2nd Baron Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight. Audrey Georgiana Florence Boyle Baroness Tennyson by marriage Baroness Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight.
On 27th July 1918 Hallam Tennyson 2nd Baron Tennyson (age 65) and May Prinsep Baroness Tennyson (age 64) were married. She by marriage Baroness Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight.
On 2nd December 1928 Hallam Tennyson 2nd Baron Tennyson (age 76) died. His son Lionel (age 39) succeeded 3rd Baron Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight. Clarissa Madeline Tennant Baroness Tennyson (age 32) by marriage Baroness Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight.
On 6th June 1951 Major Lionel Hallam Tennyson 3rd Baron Tennyson (age 61) died. His son Harold (age 32) succeeded 4th Baron Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight.
On 19th October 1991 Harold Tennyson 4th Baron Tennyson (age 72) died unmarried. His brother Mark (age 71) succeeded 5th Baron Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight. Deline Celeste Budler Baroness Tennyson by marriage Baroness Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight.
On 3rd July 2006 Mark Tennyson 5th Baron Tennyson (age 86) died without issue. His second cousin once removed David (age 46) succeeded 6th Baron Tennyson of Aldworth in Sussex and of Freshwater in the Isle of Wight.
