THE Queen has been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the Great Seal granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto Sir Robert James Loyd-Lindsay (age 53), K.C.B., V.C., Lieutenant-Colonel 1st Berkshire Rifle Volunteer Corps, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Wantage, of LocKinge, in the county of Berks.
On 10th June 1901 Robert Loyd-Lindsay 1st Baron Wantage (age 69) died. Baron Wantage of Lockinge in Berkshire extinct.
