The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 29 or 30th July 1641 William Strickland 1st Baronet (age 45) was created 1st Baronet Strickland of Boynton in Yorkshire. Frances Finch Lady Strickland by marriage Lady Strickland of Boynton in Yorkshire.

On 16th January 1647 Thomas Abdy 1st Baronet (age 34) and Anne Soame Lady Abdy were married at St Bartholomew the Less. She by marriage Lady Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex. They had ten children.

On 14th January 1686 Thomas Abdy 1st Baronet (age 73) died. His son Anthony (age 30) succeeded 2nd Baronet Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex.

On 2nd April 1704 Anthony Abdy 2nd Baronet (age 48) died. His son Anthony (age 15) succeeded 3rd Baronet Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex.

On 11th June 1733 Anthony Thomas Abdy 3rd Baronet (age 44) died. His brother William (age 43) succeeded 4th Baronet Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex.

On 25th January 1750 William Abdy 4th Baronet (age 60) died. His son Anthony (age 30) succeeded 5th Baronet Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex.

On 7th April 1775 Anthony Thomas Abdy 5th Baronet (age 55) died without issue. His brother William (age 43) succeeded 6th Baronet Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex.

On 3rd July 1806 William Abdy 7th Baronet (age 27) and Anne Wellesley Lady Abdy (age 18) were married at Hyde Park Corner; this is possibly Apsley House, Hyde Park Corner. She by marriage Lady Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex. She the illegitmate daughter of Richard Wellesley 1st Marquess Wellesley (age 46) and Hyacinthe Gabrielle Roland Marchioness Wellesley (age 40).

Queen has been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed Sunder the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baronet of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto Thomas Neville Abdy (age 39), of Albyns, in the county of Essex1, Esq. and to the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten.

The Queen has also been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baronet, of the.United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto James-Phillips Kay Shuttleworth (age 45), of Gawthorpe Hall, in the county palatine of Lancaster, Esq. and to the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten.

Note 1. He was a great-grandson of Charlotte Elizabeth Abdy, sister of Anthony Thomas Abdy 5th Baronet, the last of the Baronets Abdy of Felix Hall in Essex.

On 16th April 1868 William Abdy 7th Baronet (age 89) died at 20 Hill Street, Berkeley Square. Baronet Abdy of Felix Hall in Kelveden in Essex extinct.

On 1st December 1921 Henry Abdy 4th Baronet (age 68) died. His son Robert (age 25) succeeded 5th Baronet Abdy of Albyns in Essex.

On 17th November 1976 Robert Abdy 5th Baronet (age 80) died. His son Valentine (age 39) succeeded 6th Baronet Abdy of Albyns in Essex.

On 27th June 2012 Valentine Abdy 6th Baronet (age 74) died. His son Robert (age 34) de jure 7th Baronet Abdy of Albyns in Essex. He has yet to prove his claim the title so the Baronetcy is regard as vacant.
