The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 7th October 1698 Thomas Barnardiston 2nd Baronet (age 52) died. His son Thomas (age 24) succeeded 3rd Baronet Barnardiston of Ketton in Suffolk.
In 1700 Thomas Barnardiston 3rd Baronet (age 26) died. His brother Robert (age 24) succeeded 4th Baronet Barnardiston of Ketton in Suffolk.
In 1728 Robert Bardnardiston 4th Baronet (age 52) died. His brother Samuel (age 47) succeeded 5th Baronet Barnardiston of Ketton in Suffolk.
In August 1730 Samuel Barnardiston 5th Baronet (age 49) and Catherine Winn Lady Banardiston (age 22) were married. She by marriage Lady Barnardiston of Ketton in Suffolk. The difference in their ages was 27 years.
In 1736 Samuel Barnardiston 5th Baronet (age 55) died. His nephew John succeeded 6th Baronet Barnardiston of Ketton in Suffolk.
Around September 1745 John Bardnardiston 6th Baronet died. Baronet Barnardiston of Ketton in Suffolk extinct.

On 8th November 1707 Samuel Barnardiston 1st Baronet (age 87) died at his house in Bloomsbury Square. His nephew Samuel (age 48) succeeded 2nd Baronet Barnardiston of Brightwell in Suffolk.
