On 2nd November 1813 John Beckett 1st Baronet (age 70) was created 1st Baronet Beckett of Leeds. Mary Wilson (age 64) by marriage Lady Beckett of Leeds.

In 1826 John Beckett 1st Baronet (age 82) died. His son John (age 50) succeeded 2nd Baronet Beckett of Leeds. Anne Lowther Lady Beckett by marriage Lady Beckett of Leeds.

On 31st May 1847 John Beckett 2nd Baronet (age 72) died at Brighton. He was buried at All Saints Church, Fulham. His brother Thomas (age 68) succeeded 3rd Baronet Beckett of Leeds.

On 17th November 1872 Thomas Beckett 3rd Baronet (age 93) died. He was buried at Corringham, Lincolnshire, 22nd November 1872. His brother Edmund (age 85) succeeded 4th Baronet Beckett of Leeds.

On 24th May 1874 Edmund Beckett aka Denison 4th Baronet (age 87) died. His son Edmund (age 58) succeeded 5th Baronet Beckett of Leeds.

On 29th April 1905 Edmund Beckett 1st Baron Grimthorpe (age 88) died after a fall. He was buried at St Albans Cathedral [Map]. His nephew Ernest (age 48) succeeded 2nd Baron Grimthorpe, 6th Baronet Beckett of Leeds.

On 9th May 1917 Ernest William Beckett 2nd Baron Grimthorpe (age 60) died at a sanatorium in Banchory, Aberdeenshire. His son Ralph (age 26) succeeded 3rd Baron Grimthorpe, 7th Baronet Beckett of Leeds. Mary Alice Archdale Baroness Beckett by marriage Baroness Grimthorpe. His ashes are interred in the gardens of Villa Cimbrone, Ravello.

In 1963 Ralph Beckett 3rd Baron Grimthorpe (age 71) died. His son Christopher (age 47) succeeded 4th Baron Grimthorpe, 8th Baronet Beckett of Leeds. Elizabeth Lumley Baroness Grimthorpe (age 37) by marriage Baroness Grimthorpe.

On 6th July 2003 Christopher Beckett 4th Baron Grimthorpe (age 87) died. His son Edward (age 48) succeeded 5th Baron Grimthorpe, 9th Baronet Beckett of Leeds.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 5th August 2001 Martyn Gervase Beckett 2nd Baronet (age 82) died. His son Richard (age 57) succeeded 3rd Baronet Becket of Kirkdale Manor in North Yorkshire.
