On 16th November 1619 Erasmus Dryden 1st Baronet (age 65) was created 1st Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On 22nd May 1632 Erasmus Dryden 1st Baronet (age 78) died. His son John (age 52) succeeded 2nd Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

Before 11th November 1658 John Dryden 2nd Baronet (age 78) died. His son Robert (age 25) succeeded 3rd Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

Around 1708 Robert Dryden 3rd Baronet (age 75) died unmarried. His first cousin John (age 67) succeeded 4th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire. His sister Frances Dryden appears to have inherited some of his estates which were, following her death, inherited by her son John Sneyd (age 37).

In 1710 John Dryden 4th Baronet (age 69) died. His first cousin once removed Erasmus (age 40) succeeded 5th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On or before 4th December 1710 Erasmus Henry Dryden 5th Baronet (age 41) died. He was buried at St Mary's Church, Canons Ashby on 4th December 1710. His uncle Erasmus (age 64) succeeded 6th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On 3rd November 1718 Erasmus Dryden 6th Baronet (age 72) died. His grandson John succeeded 7th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

All About History Books

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 22nd September 1726 John Dryden 7th Baronet and Elizabeth Rooper Lady Dryden were married. She by marriage Lady Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On 21st March 1770 John Dryden 7th Baronet died. Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire extinct.

On 2nd April 1912 Alfred Erasmus Dryden 8th and 5th Baronet (age 90) died. His son Arthur (age 59) succeeded 9th Baronet Dryden of Ambrosden in Oxfordshire, 6th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On 15th March 1938 Arthur Dryden 9th and 6th Baronet (age 85) died. His second cousin Noel (age 27) succeeded 10th Baronet Dryden of Ambrosden in Oxfordshire, 7th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On 22nd August 1941 Noel Percy Hugh Dryden 10th and 7th Baronet (age 30) and Rosamund Mary Scrope Lady Dryden were married. She by marriage Lady Dryden of Ambrosden in Oxfordshire, Lady Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On 23rd March 1970 Noel Percy Hugh Dryden 10th and 7th Baronet (age 59) died. His son John (age 26) succeeded 11th Baronet Dryden of Ambrosden in Oxfordshire, 8th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

On 29th June 2022 John Stephen Gyles Dryden 11th and 8th Baronet (age 78) died. His son John (age 46) succeeded 12th Baronet Dryden of Ambrosden in Oxfordshire, 9th Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.
