The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

The King has been pleased to confer the Dignity of a Baronet of the Kingdom of Great Britain upon Walter Farquhar (age 57), Esq; of London, Doctor in Physic, and to the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully begotten [Baronet Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex].
On 30th March 1819 Walter Farquhar 1st Baronet (age 80) died. He was buried at St Martin in the Fields Church [Map]. His son Thomas (age 43) succeeded 2nd Baronet Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex.
On 12th January 1836 Thomas Harvie Farquhar 2nd Baronet (age 60) died. His son Walter (age 25) succeeded 3rd Baronet Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex.
On 28th November 1837 Walter Rockliffe Farquhar 3rd Baronet (age 27) and Mary Octavia Somerset Lady Farquhar (age 23) were married at St George's Church, Hanover Square. She by marriage Lady Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex. She the daughter of Henry Charles Somerset 6th Duke Beaufort and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Beaufort (age 66).
On 15th July 1900 Walter Rockliffe Farquhar 3rd Baronet (age 90) died. His son Henry (age 61) succeeded 4th Baronet Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex. Alice Brand Lady Farquhar (age 60) by marriage Lady Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex.
In 1916 Henry Farquhar 4th Baronet (age 77) died. His nephew Walter (age 37) succeeded 5th Baronet Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex.
On 15th October 1918 Walter Farquhar 5th Baronet (age 40) was killed in action near Arras whilst serving as a Captain in the Royal Field Artillery of the 59th Division. He was buried in Fosse No. 10 Communal Cemetery Extension, Sains-en-Gohelle. His son Peter (age 14) succeeded 6th Baronet Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex.
In 1986 Peter Farquhar 6th Baronet (age 81) died. His son Michael (age 47) succeeded 7th Baronet Farquhar of Cadogan House in Middlesex.
