The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 17th June 1828 Joseph Scott 1st Baronet (age 76) died. His son Edward (age 34) succeeded 2nd Baronet Scott of Great Barr in Staffordshire. Catherine Juliana Bateman Lady Scott (age 31) by marriage Lady Scott of Great Barr in Staffordshire.
On 27th December 1851 Edward Dolman Scott 2nd Baronet (age 58) died. His son Francis (age 27) succeeded 3rd Baronet Scott of Great Barr in Staffordshire.
On 21st November 1863 Francis Edward Scott 2nd and 3rd Baronet (age 39) died. His son Edward (age 8) succeeded 4th Baronet Scott of Great Barr in Staffordshire, 3rd Baronet Bateman of Hartington Hall in Derbyshire.

On 1st April 1871 Edward William Dolman Scott 3rd and 4th Baronet (age 16) died. His brother Arthur (age 10) succeeded 5th Baronet Scott of Great Barr in Staffordshire, 4th Baronet Bateman of Hartington Hall in Derbyshire.
On 18th March 1884 Arthur Douglas Bateman Scott 5th and 4th Baronet (age 23) died. His uncle Edward (age 58) succeeded 6th Baronet Scott of Great Barr in Staffordshire, 5th Baronet Bateman of Hartington Hall in Derbyshire.
On 8th March 1905 Edward Dolman Scott 6th and 5th Baronet (age 79) died. Baronet Scott of Great Barr in Staffordshire extinct. His half first cousin once removed Alexander (age 51) succeeded 6th Baronet Bateman of Hartington Hall in Derbyshire.
