In December 1702 John Churchill 1st Duke of Marlborough (age 52) was created 1st Duke Marlborough, 1st Marquess of Blandford. Sarah Jennings Duchess of Marlborough (age 42) by marriage Duchess Marlborough.
John Evelyn's Diary. 1st December 1702. After the excess of honor conferred by the Queen (age 37) on the Earl of Marlborough (age 52), by making him a Knight of the Garter and a Duke, for the success of but one campaign, that he should desire £5,000 a year to be settled on him by Parliament out of the Post Office, was thought a bold and unadvised request, as he had, besides his own considerable estate, above £30,000 a year in places and employments, with £50,000 at interest. He had married one daughter (age 21) to the son (age 24) of my Lord Treasurer Godolphin (age 57), another (age 19) to the Earl of Sunderland (age 27), and a third (age 15) to the Earl of Bridgewater (age 21). He is a very handsome person, well-spoken and affable, and supports his want of acquired knowledge by keeping good company.
On 16th June 1722 John Churchill 1st Duke of Marlborough (age 72) died at Cranbourne Lodge, Windsor. His daughter Henrietta (age 40) succeeded 2nd Duchess Marlborough, 2nd Marchioness of Blandford, 2nd Countess of Marlborough, 2nd Baroness Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire. Francis Godolphin 2nd Earl Godolphin (age 43) by marriage Duke Marlborough.
On 24th October 1733 Henrietta Churchill 2nd Duchess of Marlborough (age 52) died. Her nephew Charles (age 26) succeeded 3rd Duke Marlborough, 3rd Marquess of Blandford, 3rd Earl of Marlborough, 3rd Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire. On 20th October 1758 Charles Spencer 3rd Duke of Marlborough (age 51) died. His son George (age 19) succeeded 4th Duke Marlborough, 4th Marquess of Blandford, 4th Earl of Marlborough, 4th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 6th Earl of Sunderland, 8th Baron Spencer Wormleighton.
In 1762 George Spencer 4th Duke of Marlborough (age 22) and Caroline Russell Duchess of Marlborough (age 18) were married. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. She the daughter of John Russell 4th Duke Bedford (age 51) and Gertrude Leveson-Gower Duchess Bedford. He the son of Charles Spencer 3rd Duke of Marlborough and Elizabeth Trevor Duchess of Marlborough. They were fourth cousins.

On 5th March 1840 George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough (age 73) died. His son George (age 46) succeeded 6th Duke Marlborough, 6th Marquess of Blandford, 6th Earl of Marlborough, 6th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 8th Earl of Sunderland, 10th Baron Spencer Wormleighton. On 10th June 1846 George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough (age 52) and Charlotte Augusta Flower Duchess of Marlborough (age 28) were married. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. The difference in their ages was 24 years. He the son of George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough and Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough.
On 18th October 1851 George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough (age 57) and Jane Francis Stewart Duchess Marlborough were married. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. He the son of George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough and Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough. They were first cousins.

On 5th July 1883 John Winston Spencer-Churchill 7th Duke of Marlborough (age 61) died. His son George (age 39) succeeded 8th Duke Marlborough, 8th Marquess of Blandford, 8th Earl of Marlborough, 8th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 10th Earl of Sunderland, 12th Baron Spencer Wormleighton. Albertha Frances Anne Hamilton Duchess of Marlborough (age 36) by marriage Duchess Marlborough.
On 9th November 1892 George Charles Spencer-Churchill 8th Duke of Marlborough (age 48) died. His son Charles (age 20) succeeded 9th Duke Marlborough, 9th Marquess of Blandford, 9th Earl of Marlborough, 9th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 11th Earl of Sunderland, 13th Baron Spencer Wormleighton.
On 6th November 1895 Charles Richard John Spencer-Churchill 9th Duke of Marlborough (age 23) and Consuelo Vanderbilt Duchess of Marlborough (age 18) were married at St Thomas' Church New York. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. The marriage arranged by Mary "Minnie" Fiske Stevens (age 42) and encouraged by mother Alva Erskine Smith (age 42). The marriage was unhappy; they separated in 1906 and the marriage was annulled on 19th Augiust 1926. He the son of George Charles Spencer-Churchill 8th Duke of Marlborough and Albertha Frances Anne Hamilton Duchess of Marlborough (age 48).
The marriage settlement provided for the Duke to receive a $2,500,000 trust that would pay $100,000 per year. Consuelo also received a further $100,000 per year. The combined annual income of $200,000 (£40,000) more than doubled the income the Duke had enjoyed from his estates prior to the marriage. Consuelo and the Duke also acquired several large gifts from her father, William K. Vanderbilt, including a palatial London townhouse and a reported sum of $1,000,000 in cash to mark the Duke's safe return from South Africa.
In 1921 Charles Richard John Spencer-Churchill 9th Duke of Marlborough (age 49) and Gladys Marie Deacon Duchess of Marlborough (age 39) were married; she had previoiusly been his mistress. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. He the son of George Charles Spencer-Churchill 8th Duke of Marlborough and Albertha Frances Anne Hamilton Duchess of Marlborough (age 74).

On 16th October 2014 John Spencer-Churchill 11th Duke of Marlborough (age 88) died. His son James (age 58) succeeded 12th Duke Marlborough, 12th Marquess of Blandford, 12th Earl of Marlborough, 12th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 14th Earl of Sunderland, 16th Baron Spencer Wormleighton.
