The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

She by marriage Landgravine Hesse Kassel. He the son of [his grandfather] Wilhelm "The Just" VI Hesse-Kassel and [his grandmother] Hedwig Sophia Hohenzollern (age 50). They were first cousins.
On 28th April 1676 Frederick I King Sweden was born to Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel (age 21) and Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel (age 22). Coefficient of inbreeding 6.66%.
In 1700 Frederick I King Sweden (age 23) and Louise Dorothea Hohenzollern (age 19) were married. She the daughter of Frederick I King Prussia (age 42) and Elisabeth Henriëtte Hesse-Kassel. He the son of Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel (age 45) and Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel (age 46). They were first cousins.
On 23rd December 1705 [his wife] Louise Dorothea Hohenzollern (age 25) died in childbirth.
On 16th June 1711 [his mother] Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel (age 58) died.
In 1715 Frederick I King Sweden (age 38) and Ulrika Eleonora Palatinate Zweibrücken Queen Consort Sweden (age 26) were married. She the daughter of Charles XI King Sweden and Ulrika Eleonora Oldenburg. He the son of Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel (age 60) and Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel. They were fourth cousin once removed.
On 29th February 1720 [his wife] Ulrika Eleonora Palatinate Zweibrücken Queen Consort Sweden (age 32) abdicated King Sweden. On 24th March 1720 her husband Frederick I King Sweden (age 43) was appointed I King Sweden.
On 23rd March 1730 [his father] Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel (age 75) died.
On 24th November 1741 [his wife] Ulrika Eleonora Palatinate Zweibrücken Queen Consort Sweden (age 53) died.
On 5th April 1751 Frederick I King Sweden (age 74) died. His fifth cousin twice removed Adolph (age 40) succeeded King Sweden. He the first king of the House of Holstein-Gottorp.
