The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

She by marriage Countess Belmore in the County of Fermanagh. The difference in their ages was 22 years. She the daughter of [her grandfather] John Hobart 2nd Earl Buckinghamshire (age 56) and [her grandmother] Mary Anne Drury Countess Buckinghamshire.
On 3rd April 1781 Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich was born to Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore (age 40) and Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore (age 18).
On 4th April 1793 [her step-father] William Kerr 6th Marquess Lothian (age 29) and [her mother] Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore (age 30) were married. She the daughter of [her grandfather] John Hobart 2nd Earl Buckinghamshire (age 69) and [her grandmother] Mary Anne Drury Countess Buckinghamshire. He the son of William John Kerr 5th Marquess Lothian (age 56) and Elizabeth Fortescue 5th Marchioness Lothian.
On 1st March 1794 [her father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore (age 53) and [her step-mother] Mary Anne Caldwell Countess Belmore (age 38) were married. She by marriage Viscountess Belmore of Fermanagh.
On 2nd February 1802 [her father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore (age 61) died at Bath, Somerset [Map]. His son [her half-brother] Somerset (age 27) succeeded 2nd Earl Belmore in the County of Fermanagh, Viscount Belmore of Fermanagh and Baron Belmore of Castle Coole in the County of Fermanagh. Juliana Butler Countess Belmore (age 18) by marriage Countess Belmore in the County of Fermanagh.

On 9th July 1804 George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich (age 31) and Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 23) were married. She the daughter of Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore and Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore (age 42). He the son of John Montagu 5th Earl Sandwich (age 60) and Maria Henrietta Powlett.
On 14th May 1805 [her daughter] Harriet Mary Montagu Baroness Ashburton was born to [her husband] George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich (age 32) and Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 24).
On 14th July 1805 [her mother] Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore (age 43) died.

On 8th November 1811 [her son] John William Montagu 7th Earl Sandwich was born to [her husband] George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich (age 38) and Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 30). He was educated at Eton College [Map].
On 6th June 1814 [her father-in-law] John Montagu 5th Earl Sandwich (age 70) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map]. His son [her husband] George (age 41) succeeded 6th Earl Sandwich. Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 33) by marriage Countess Sandwich.
On 21st May 1818 [her husband] George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich (age 45) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map]. His son [her son] John (age 6) succeeded 7th Earl Sandwich.
On 12th April 1823 [her son-in-law] Bingham Baring 2nd Baron Ashburton (age 23) and [her daughter] Harriet Mary Montagu Baroness Ashburton (age 17) were married. She the daughter of [her former husband] George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich and Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 42).
On 1st December 1831 [her son-in-law] Alexandre Florian Joseph Count Colonna-Walewski (age 21) and [her daughter] Catherine Caroline Montagu Countess Colonna-Walewski (age 23) were married. On 4th May 1857 [her daughter] Harriet Mary Montagu Baroness Ashburton (age 51) died.
On 19th April 1862 Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 81) died. She was buried at All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map].
16th June 1884. Erected by [her grandson] Edward Montagu 8th Earl Sandwich (age 44). Wall plaque listing those buried beneath the chancel of All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map].
