The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. On 6th July 1833 [his father] Albert Conygham aka Denison 1st Baron Londesborough (age 27) and [his mother] Henrietta Maria Weld-Forester were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Henry Conyngham 1st Marquess Conyngham and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Denison Marchioness Conyngham (age 64).

On 19th June 1834 William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough was born to Albert Conygham aka Denison 1st Baron Londesborough (age 28) and Henrietta Maria Weld-Forester.

On 22nd April 1841 [his mother] Henrietta Maria Weld-Forester died.

On 21st December 1847 [his father] Albert Conygham aka Denison 1st Baron Londesborough (age 42) and [his step-mother] Ursula Lucy Grace Bridgeman (age 24) were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Henry Conyngham 1st Marquess Conyngham and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Denison Marchioness Conyngham (age 78).

On 15th January 1860 [his father] Albert Conygham aka Denison 1st Baron Londesborough (age 54) died. His son William (age 25) succeeded 2nd Baron Londesborough of Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

In 1863 William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 28) and Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough (age 24) were married. She by marriage Baroness Londesborough of Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire. She the daughter of Henry Somerset 7th Duke Beaufort and Emily Frances Smith Duchess Beaufort (age 62). They were third cousins.

On 19th June 1864 [his son] William Henry Francis Denison 2nd Earl Londesborough was born to William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 30) and [his wife] Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough (age 26).

On 18th February 1866 Thomas Hay-Drummond 11th Earl Kinnoull (age 80) died. His son George (age 38) succeeded 12th Earl Kinnoull, 5th Baron Hay of Pedwardine in Herefordshire. [his sister-in-law] Emily Blanche Charlotte Somerset Countess Kinnoul (age 38) by marriage Countess Kinnoull.

In 1867 [his brother-in-law] Henry Charles Fitzroy Somerset 8th Duke Beaufort (age 43) was appointed 752nd Knight of the Garter by Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom (age 47).

On 11th August 1867 [his daughter] Lilian Katharine Selina Denison was born to William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 33) and [his wife] Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough (age 29).

In or after 1868 [his daughter] Mildred Adelaide Cecilia Denison was born to William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 33) and [his wife] Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough (age 29).

In or after 1868 [his daughter] Ida Emily Augusta Denison Lady Sitwell was born to William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 33) and [his wife] Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough (age 29).

In 1886 [his son-in-law] George Reresby Sitwell 4th Baronet (age 25) and [his daughter] Ida Emily Augusta Denison Lady Sitwell (age 17) were married. She by marriage Lady Sitwell of Renishaw Hall in Derbyshire. She the daughter of William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 51) and [his wife] Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough (age 47).

In 1887 William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 52) was created 1st Earl Londesborough in Yorkshire. [his wife] Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough (age 48) by marriage Countess Londesborough in Yorkshire.

On 3rd February 1887 [his son-in-law] Gerald William Henry Codrington 1st Baronet (age 37) and [his daughter] Edith Henrietta Sybil Denison Lady Codrington (age 22) were married. She the daughter of Francis William Henry Fane 12th Earl of Westmoreland (age 61) and Adelaide Ida Curzon Howe Countess of Westmoreland (age 52). In 1892 Henry Chaplin 1st Viscount Chaplin (age 51) sold the heavily mortgaged Blankney, Lincolnshire to the principal mortgagee William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 57).

On 19th April 1900 William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough (age 65) died. His son [his son] William (age 35) succeeded 2nd Earl Londesborough in Yorkshire, 3rd Baron Londesborough of Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire. [his daughter-in-law] Grace Adelaide Fane Countess Londesborough (age 39) by marriage Countess Londesborough in Yorkshire.
