In March 1780 Richard Child aka Tylney 1st Earl Tylney died at Aix en Provence. His son John (age 67) succeeded 2nd Earl Tylney of Castlemaine in County Kerry, 2nd Viscount Castlemaine in County Kerry, 2nd Baron Newtown in County Donegal.
