The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

In or before 1546 [his father] Hugh Montgomerie 2nd Earl Eglinton and [his mother] Marion Seton Countess Eglinton (age 50) were married. She by marriage Countess Eglinton. They were second cousins. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In 1546 [his father] Hugh Montgomerie 2nd Earl Eglinton died. His son Hugh (age 15) succeeded 3rd Earl Eglinton.

Before 24th March 1553 [his step-father] Alexander Graham of Wallaceston and [his mother] Marion Seton Countess Eglinton (age 58) were married. The difference in their ages was 28 years; she, unusually, being older than him. He the son of William Graham 2nd Earl Montrose (age 61) and Janet Keith Countess Montrose. They were fourth cousin once removed. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In 1554 Hugh Montgomerie 3rd Earl Eglinton (age 23) and Jean Hamilton Countess Eglinton were married. She by marriage Countess Eglinton. They were third cousins.

On 28th October 1562 [his brother-in-law] George Gordon 4th Earl Huntley (age 48) died. His son George succeeded 5th Earl Huntley. [his former sister-in-law] Anne Hamilton Countess Huntley (age 27) by marriage Countess Huntley.

In 1563 [his son] Hugh Montgomerie 4th Earl Eglinton was born to Hugh Montgomerie 3rd Earl Eglinton (age 32) and [his wife] Agnes Drummond Countess Eglinton (age 40).

In 1582 [his son-in-law] Robert Seton 1st Earl Winton (age 29) and [his daughter] Margaret Montgomerie Countess Winton were married. She the daughter of Hugh Montgomerie 3rd Earl Eglinton (age 51) and [his wife] Agnes Drummond Countess Eglinton (age 59). They were second cousins.

In 1585 Hugh Montgomerie 3rd Earl Eglinton (age 54) died.

On 21st January 1590 [his former wife] Agnes Drummond Countess Eglinton (age 67) died.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.
