The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Biography of Victor Alexander John Hope 2nd Marquess Linlithgow 1887-1952

In 1873 [his grandfather]  (age 42) died. His son [his father]  (age 12) succeeded 7th Earl Hopetoun.

On 24 Sep 1887 Victor Alexander John Hope 2nd Marquess Linlithgow was born to (age 26) at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry.

After Jul 1902 [his father]  (age 41) was created 1st Marquess Linlithgow.

On 29 Feb 1908 [his father]  (age 47) died. His son Victor Alexander John Hope 2nd Marquess Linlithgow (age 20) succeeded 2nd Marquess Linlithgow.

On 19 Apr 1911 Victor Alexander John Hope 2nd Marquess Linlithgow (age 23) and (age 25) were married. She by marriage Marchioness Linlithgow. He the son of John Hope 1st Marquess Linlithgow 1860-1908.

In 1912 [his son] Charles William Frederick Hope 3rd Marquess Linlithgow was born to Victor Alexander John Hope 2nd Marquess Linlithgow (age 24).

On 08 Jun 1931 [his father-in-law] Frederick George Milner 7th Baronet (age 81) died. His son [his brother-in-law] William Frederick Victor Mordaunt Milner 8th Baronet (age 37) succeeded 8th Baronet Milner of Nun Appleton Hall in Yorkshire.

In 1943 Victor Alexander John Hope 2nd Marquess Linlithgow (age 55) was appointed 894th Knight of the Garter by King George VI of the United Kingdom (age 47)..

On 05 Jan 1952 Victor Alexander John Hope 2nd Marquess Linlithgow (age 64) died.

On 02 Aug 1965 [his former wife]  (age 79) died.
