In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

On 8th June 1658 Henry Slingsby 1st Baronet (age 56) was beheaded on Tower Hill [Map] for being a Royalist. His son Thomas (age 21) succeeded 2nd Baronet Slingsby Scriven.
On 1st March 1688 Thomas Slingsby 2nd Baronet (age 51) died. His son Henry (age 28) succeeded 3rd Baronet Slingsby Scriven.
In 1691 Henry Slingsby 3rd Baronet (age 31) died. His brother Thomas (age 23) succeeded 4th Baronet Slingsby Scriven.
In 1726 Thomas Slingsby 4th Baronet (age 58) died. His son Henry (age 33) succeeded 5th Baronet Slingsby Scriven.
In 1763 Henry Slingsby 5th Baronet (age 70) died. His brother Thomas (age 68) succeeded 6th Baronet Slingsby Scriven.
In 1765 Thomas Slingsby 6th Baronet (age 70) died. His brother Saville (age 67) succeeded 7th Baronet Slingsby Scriven.
