Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

On 15th September 1707 Christopher Wandesford 1st Viscount Castlecomer [aged 51] died. His son Christopher [aged 23] succeeded 2nd Viscount Castlecomer, 2nd Baron Wandesford, 3rd Baronet Wandesford of Kirklington.

On 23rd June 1719 Christopher Wandesford 2nd Viscount Castlecomer [aged 35] died. His son Christopher [aged 2] succeeded 3rd Viscount Castlecomer, 3rd Baron Wandesford, 4th Baronet Wandesford of Kirklington.

In 1736 Christopher Wandesford 3rd Viscount Castlecomer [aged 19] died. His uncle George [aged 49] succeeded 4th Viscount Castlecomer, 4th Baron Wandesford, 5th Baronet Wandesford of Kirklington.

In 1751 George Wandesford 4th Viscount Castlecomer [aged 64] died. His son John [aged 25] succeeded 5th Viscount Castlecomer, 5th Baron Wandesford, 6th Baronet Wandesford of Kirklington.

On 12th January 1784 John Wandesford 1st Earl Wandesford [aged 58] died. Earl Wandesford, Viscount Castlecomer, Baron Wandesford, Baronet Wandesford of Kirklington extinct.
