Published March 2025. The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

She the daughter of [his grandfather] Ralph Stafford 1st Earl Stafford (age 61) and [his grandmother] Margaret Audley Countess Stafford. They were third cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King Edward I of England.

Around 1370 William Ros 6th Baron Ros Helmsley was born to Thomas Ros 4th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 34) and Beatrice Stafford Countess Desmond (age 29) at Stoke Albany, Northamptonshire. He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward I of England.

On 08 Jun 1384 [his father] Thomas Ros 4th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 49) died at Uffington. He was buried at Rievaulx Abbey [Map]. His son [his brother] John (age 15) succeeded 5th Baron Ros Helmsley and inherited Belvoir Castle [Map].

In 1391 Thomas Clifford 6th Baron Clifford (age 28) died. His son John (age 2) succeeded 7th Baron de Clifford, 7th Lord Skipton. However, given his young age his mother's brother William Ros 6th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 21) enjoyed the benefit of his wardship until he came of age around Sep 1411.

On 06 Aug 1393 [his brother] John Ros 5th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 24) died at Paphos returning from Pilgrimage. He was buried at Rievaulx Abbey [Map]. His brother William (age 23) succeeded 6th Baron Ros Helmsley and inherited Belvoir Castle [Map].

Around 1394 William Ros 6th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 24) and Margaret Fitzalan Baroness Ros of Helmsley (age 22) were married. She by marriage Baroness Ros Helmsley. She brought a 40 mark annuity to the marriage awarded to her by King Richard II of England (age 26) following the death of his wife Anne of Bohemia Queen Consort England (age 27) in whose household she had been. She the sister of the Earl of Arundel (age 48). He the son of Thomas Ros 4th Baron Ros Helmsley and Beatrice Stafford Countess Desmond (age 53). He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward I of England. Marriage of Richard II and Isabella of Valois

He twenty-nine, she six. The marriage sowed the seeds subsequent rebellion since there was no prospect of an heir to secure the Crown. The difference in their ages was 22 years. On 29 Sep 1399 King Richard II of England (age 32) Abdicated II King of England at the Tower of London [Map]. William Ros 6th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 29), Thomas Grey (age 40), William Willoughby 5th Baron Willoughby (age 29), Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell (age 52) and Thomas Rempston were present.

In Oct 1399 William Ros 6th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 29) was appointed Trier of Petitions at Henry IV's first Parliament.

In Dec 1399 William Ros 6th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 29) was appointed to Henry IV's Royal Council.

At the dissolution of the monasteries his monument was moved to the Chancel of St Mary the Virgin Church, Bottesford, Leicestershire [Map] on the right side of the High Altar.
