He the son of [his grandfather] Robert "Great" Capet I Count Dreux [age 58] and [his grandmother] Agnes Baudemont Countess Dreux [age 51]. They were third cousin once removed.

Around 1187 Peter of Dreux aka Mauclerc Duke Brittany was born to [his father] Robert Capet II Count Dreux [age 33] and [his mother] Yolande Coucy Countess Dreux [age 23].

On 11th October 1188 [his grandfather] Robert "Great" Capet I Count Dreux [age 65] died. His son [his father] Robert [age 34] succeeded II Count Dreux.

Death of Arthur Duke of Brittany

In 1204 Prince Arthur 3rd Duke Brittany [age 16] was murdered at Rouen, France [Map]. His half sister [his future wife] Alix [age 2] succeeded 5th Countess Richmond. His half-sister [his future sister-in-law] Eleanor "Fair Maid of Britanny" 4th Countess of Richmond [age 20], who was imprisoned from 1202 to her death, also used the title Countess of Richmond.

In or before 1212 [his brother] Robert Capet III Count Dreux [age 26] and [his sister-in-law] Aénor de Saint-Valéry [age 19] were married. She by marriage Countess Dreux. He the son of [his father] Robert Capet II Count Dreux [age 57] and [his mother] Yolande Coucy Countess Dreux [age 47]. They were fourth cousin once removed.

In or before 1217 Peter of Dreux aka Mauclerc Duke Brittany [age 29] and Alix Thouars Duchess of Brittany [age 15] were married. He by marriage Duke Brittany 1221 Dreux, Earl Richmond. She the daughter of Guy Thouars and Constance Penthièvre Duchess Brittany. He the son of Robert Capet II Count Dreux [age 62] and Yolande Coucy Countess Dreux [age 52]. They were fourth cousins. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Henry I "Beauclerc" England.

In 1218 [his son] John "The Red" Capet I Duke Brittany was born to Peter of Dreux aka Mauclerc Duke Brittany [age 31] and [his wife] Alix Thouars Duchess of Brittany [age 16]. He a great x 4 grandson of King Henry I "Beauclerc" England. He married 1236 his third cousin once removed Blanche "Navarre" Blois Duchess Brittany, daughter of Theobald IV King Navarre and Agnes of Beaujeu Countess Savoy, and had issue.

In 1218 Peter of Dreux aka Mauclerc Duke Brittany [age 31] was created 1st Earl Richmond.

On 28th December 1218 [his father] Robert Capet II Count Dreux [age 64] died. His son [his brother] Robert [age 33] succeeded III Count Dreux.

Around 1219 [his daughter] Yolande Capet Countess Lusignan, La Marche and Angoulême was born to Peter of Dreux aka Mauclerc Duke Brittany [age 32] and [his wife] Alix Thouars Duchess of Brittany [age 17]. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Henry I "Beauclerc" England. She married before 1235 her third cousin Hugh XI of Lusignan VI Count of La Marche II Count Angoulême, son of Hugh X of Lusignan V Count La Marche and Isabella of Angoulême Queen Consort England, and had issue.

In 1220 [his son] Arthur Capet was born to Peter of Dreux aka Mauclerc Duke Brittany [age 33] and [his wife] Alix Thouars Duchess of Brittany [age 18]. He a great x 4 grandson of King Henry I "Beauclerc" England. He died aged four in 1224.

Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans

Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.

In 1221 [his wife] Alix Thouars Duchess of Brittany [age 19] died. Earl Richmond extinct. It isn't clear why her son didn't inherit the title? Her husband had been created Earl Richmond in his own right in 1218 so possible her son didn't inherit the first, contested, creation since he would succeed to the second creation.

On 18th March 1222 [his mother] Yolande Coucy Countess Dreux [age 58] died.

In 1224 [his son] Arthur Capet [age 4] died.

In 1227 [his brother] Henry Capet Archbishop of Reims [age 34] was appointed Archbishop of Reims.

Before February 1232 Peter of Dreux aka Mauclerc Duke Brittany [age 45] and Nicole Unknown were married. He the son of Robert Capet II Count Dreux and Yolande Coucy Countess Dreux.

In 1234 [his brother] Robert Capet III Count Dreux [age 49] died. His son [his nephew] John [age 19] succeeded I Count Dreux.
