In or before 1040 [his father] Roger "Bearded" Beaumont (age 24) and [his mother] Adeline of Meulan were married.

History of the Dukes of Normandy by William of Jumieges. Roger of Beaumont (age 26), having overcome his adversaries, gave thanks to God for the victory, and throughout his whole life strove earnestly to do good works. Among these, he built on his own land the monastic abbey at Préaux, and he always remained faithful to Duke William against all others. For this reason he became more exalted than all his ancestors. For he married Adelina, daughter of Waleran, count of Meulan; and by her he begot two sons, Robert (age 1) and Henry, who afterward became powerful counts¹. Robert indeed, after his uncle Hugh, flourished as count of Meulan for more than twenty-seven years; and Henry received from King William in England the county of Warwick. After the aforesaid slaughter in which Roger of Tosny and Robert of Grandmesnil and many others fell, Richard (age 26), count of Évreux, son of Archbishop Robert, took to wife the widow² of Roger of Tosny, and by her begot William, who now rules the people of Évreux. And his [Richard's] brother [William (age 36)] took as his wife Hawise, daughter of Giroie and widow of Robert of Grandmesnil.

Note 1. Robert Beaumont, around 1040-1118, succeeded his father as Count of Meulan. He was one of the companions of William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings. He was created Earl of Leicester in 1107 by King Henry I. He married around 1096, he aged fifty, she around eleven, Elizabeth of Vermandois, daughter of Hugh the Great, grand-daughter of King Henry I of Francia, and had issue. Henry Beaumont, around 1050-1119. He was created Earl of Warwick in 1088 by King William II. He married, sometime before 1100, Marguerite of Chateaudun, daughter of Geoffrey III Count of Mortain and II of Perche, and had issue.

In 1050 Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick was born to [his father] Roger "Bearded" Beaumont (age 35) and [his mother] Adeline of Meulan.

14th October 1066 Battle of Hastings

                    On 14th October 1066 the Norman army led by King William "Conqueror" I of England (age 38) defeated the English army of King Harold II of England (age 44) at the 14th October 1066 Battle of Hastings fought at Senlac Hill Hastings. Aimery Thouars (age 42), Ralph de Gael 2nd Earl East Anglia (age 24), Eustace II Count Boulogne (age 51), William Fitzosbern 1st Earl Hereford (age 46), [his future father-in-law] Geoffrey Chateaudun II Count Mortain III Count Perche, William Warenne 1st Earl of Surrey, Raoul Tosny, Robert Beaumont 1st Earl of Leicester Count Meulan (age 26), Hugh Grandesmil (age 34), Roger "The Great" Montgomery 1st Earl of Shrewsbury (possibly), Robert Mortain Count Mortain 1st Earl Cornwall (age 35) and Bishop Odo of Bayeux fought for William.
                
                    King Harold II of England was killed. Earl Wessex, Earl Hereford extinct.
                
                    Leofwine Godwinson 2nd Earl Kent (age 31) was killed. Earl Kent extinct.
                
                    His brothers Gyrth Godwinson Earl East Anglia (age 34) and Engenulphe Aigle (age 56) were killed.

On 8th April 1081 [his mother] Adeline of Meulan died.

In 1088 Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick (age 38) was created 1st Earl Warwick.

On 20th November 1094 [his father] Roger "Bearded" Beaumont (age 79) died.

In 1096 [his brother] Robert Beaumont 1st Earl of Leicester Count Meulan (age 56) and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Capet Countess Leicester, Meulan and Surrey (age 11) were married. She by marriage Countess of Leicester. The difference in their ages was 45 years. She the daughter of Hugh "Great" Capet (age 39) and Adelaide I Countess Vermandois.

Before 1100 Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick (age 49) and Marguerite Chateaudun Countess Warwick were married. She by marriage Countess Warwick. She the daughter of Geoffrey Chateaudun II Count Mortain III Count Perche and Beatrix de Ramerupt Montdidier Countess Mortain and Perche.

In 1100 [his son] Robert Newburgh was born to Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick (age 50) and [his wife] Marguerite Chateaudun Countess Warwick. He married in or before 1130 his half fourth cousin twice removed Godehildis de Tosny and had issue.

Death of King William II

On 2nd August 1100 King William II of England (age 44) died in a hunting accident, not known whether accidentally or otherwise, in the New Forest, Hampshire. His brother Henry (age 32) succeeded I King of England. The brothers Robert Beaumont 1st Earl of Leicester Count Meulan (age 60) and Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick (age 50), and Roger de Clare (age 34) and Gilbert de Clare (age 34) were present.

Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough

A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

In October 1100 [his father-in-law] Geoffrey Chateaudun II Count Mortain III Count Perche died. His son [his brother-in-law] Routrou (age 20) succeeded III Count Perche.

In 1102 [his son] Roger Beaumont 2nd Earl Warwick was born to Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick (age 52) and [his wife] Marguerite Chateaudun Countess Warwick. He married 1130 Gundred Warenne Countess Warwick, daughter of William Warenne 2nd Earl of Surrey and Elizabeth Capet Countess Leicester, Meulan and Surrey, and had issue.

In 1107 [his brother] Robert Beaumont 1st Earl of Leicester Count Meulan (age 67) was created 1st Earl of Leicester.

On 5th June 1118 [his brother] Robert Beaumont 1st Earl of Leicester Count Meulan (age 78) died. His son [his nephew] Robert (age 14) succeeded 2nd Earl of Leicester. Amice Gael Countess Leicester by marriage Countess of Leicester. His son Waleran (age 14) succeeded Count Meulan.

On 20th June 1119 Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick (age 69) died. His son Roger (age 17) succeeded 2nd Earl Warwick.

After 1156 [his former wife] Marguerite Chateaudun Countess Warwick died.

[his son] Rotrou Newburgh Archbishop of Rouen was born to Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick and Marguerite Chateaudun Countess Warwick.

[his son] Geoffrey Newburgh was born to Henry Beaumont 1st Earl Warwick and Marguerite Chateaudun Countess Warwick.
