On 18th January 1844 Francis Russell 9th Duke Bedford [aged 24] and [his future sister-in-law] Elizabeth Sackville-West Duchess Bedford [aged 25] were married. She by marriage Duchess Bedford. She by marriage Marchioness Salisbury in Wiltshire. The difference in their ages was 33 years.
