Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey 1693-1761

Before 1689 [his father] Richard Annesley 3rd Baron Altham [aged 33] and [his mother] Dorothy Davey Baroness Altham [aged 25] were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Arthur Annesley 1st Earl Annesley and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Altham Countess Anglesey [aged 68].

Around 1693 Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey was born to Richard Annesley 3rd Baron Altham [aged 38] and Dorothy Davey Baroness Altham [aged 29].

On 19th November 1701 [his father] Richard Annesley 3rd Baron Altham [aged 46] died. His son [his brother] Arthur [aged 12] succeeded 4th Baron Altham.

Around 1715 [his mother] Dorothy Davey Baroness Altham [aged 51] died.

Before 15th April 1715 [his brother] Arthur Annesley 4th Baron Altham [aged 26] and [his sister-in-law] Mary Sheffield Baroness Altham [aged 23] were married. She by marriage Baroness Altham. She the daughter of John Sheffield 1st Duke of Buckingham and Normanby [aged 67] and Ursula Stawell Countess Mulgrave and Conway.

On 16th November 1727 [his brother] Arthur Annesley 4th Baron Altham [aged 38] died. His brother Richard [aged 34] succeeded 5th Baron Altham.

After his father died on 16th November 1727 his uncle Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey [aged 34] arranged for [his brother] Arthur Annesley 4th Baron Altham [deceased] to be kidnapped so that he wouldn't inherit his father's titles or estates. In 1737 he would also have inherited the estates of his cousin Arthur Annesley 5th Earl Anglesey [aged 47]. He was shipped to a plantation in Delaware and sold into indentured servitude.

On 1st April 1737 Arthur Annesley 5th Earl Anglesey [aged 57] died. His first cousin Richard [aged 44] succeeded 6th Earl Anglesey, 7th Viscount Valentia, 6th Baron Annesley Newport Pagnell Buckinghamshire.

In 1741 [his nephew] James Annesley [aged 25] returned to England. Shortly thereafter durign a hunting trip in Scotland he accidentally shot a man. His uncle Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey [aged 48] attempted to have him hanged for murder.

In September 1741 Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey [aged 48] and Juliana Donovan Countess Anglesey were married in secret. The secrecy led to issues with his son Arthur's succession as Earl Anglesey.

On 7th August 1744 [his son] Arthur Annesley 1st Earl Mountnorris was born to Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey [aged 51] and [his wife] Juliana Donovan Countess Anglesey. He married 1. 10th May 1767 Lucy Lyttelton Baronet, daughter of George Lyttelton 1st Baron Lyttelton and Lucy Fortescue, and had issue 2. 20th September 1783 Sarah Cavendish Countess Mountnorris, daughter of Henry Cavendish 2nd Baronet and Sarah Bradshaw 1st Baroness Waterpark, and had issue.

In 1752 Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey [aged 59] and [his wife] Juliana Donovan Countess Anglesey were married. They had married in secret before. Juliana Donovan Countess Anglesey by marriage Countess Anglesey.

On 14th February 1761 Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey [aged 68] died. Earl Anglesey and Baron Annesley Newport Pagnell Buckinghamshire extinct. His son Arthur [aged 16] succeeded 8th Viscount Valentia, 6th Baron Altham.

Arthur Annesley 1st Earl Mountnorris didn't succeed as 7th Earl Anglesey since his parent's secret marriage in September 1741 was not supported by sufficient evidence for the English House of Lords to accept his legitimacy. He was subsequently created Earl Mountnorris of Mountnorris Castle in Armagh more or less in compensation.

He succeeded to the Irish titles Viscount Valentia and Baron Altham since the Irish House of Lords did believe his legitimacy.

On 26th September 1777 [his former wife] Juliana Donovan Countess Anglesey died.
